  • Was this the response to the letter you sent to Andy Bond? If so, I would also point out that you were expecting an answer from him! Definitely put a copy of this thread in with it, and make sure you highlight the bits where it shows how many people have read this.

I've been to 3 Asda House Christmas parties and have to say they are fantastic - but as KittyKate says the amount of money they throw at them is ridiculous - they can afford to try and keep the customers that allow them to do this!!

I think Christmas parties are tax deductible though (for ASDA so they get most of the money back) & considering that their staff probably get paid peanuts & probably don't get many perks it shouldn't be considered something frivolous that asda is spending it's money on!
nothing to see here, move along...
  • I'm sure you're right about it being tax deductible asea, but the staff at Asda House are the Directors, Buyers, Technologists etc. who get paid big money. The staff at the store used to get a tenner each towards going bowling or something! Very unfair.

    Wal Mart own ASDA.

Ive tried some Asda food and I found it quite bland in taste. It's alot cheaper than M&S but it doesnt taste as good

I wouldnt like to eat food with worms in them either.

Do you think, if the worm had a choice, it would be in an M&S food or ASDA?

We had some M&S cheese and onion slices, cooked 'em and sweet wife discovered a big lump of sasuage meat in one.

Took them back, left name and address, told to pick a couple of bottles of wine (anything you like except the champagnes), got refund and £10 voucher there and then, along with loads of appoligies.

Suspect c+o slice went to M&S hq for autopsy, got letter from suppliers saying it was impossible but they enclosed a £20 M+S voucher.

I assumed all supermarkets would do this sort of thing.

Afterall contamination of food could prove to be a huge problem if not brought to their attention very quickly....
    The money, Dave...

What happened was dreadful & I'm sure they're investigating/ talking to their supplier (these things can take a very long time), but they do seem to have compounded the first problem by taking so long to answer & then not really answering your actual complaint.

I would advise against printing off this thread and sending it to Asda. Firstly, its copyright owned by MSE, you'd need to get permission to use it. Secondly, if their legal people see it, they will misinterpret your 1st post ("What i want to know is will i get anything else ") and may just mark you down as a chancer.

I would persist with complaining to Asda, I don't think its really gone high enough up in their organisiation yet. Have you got any names of their board that you can write to direct, e.g. their Operations Director (might be on their website under corporate info?). I think Allan Leighton is still a board memeber & he's always on about customers.

If you still get no where, I'd then take it up with Trading Standards or H&S at the council, as, if you'd eaten those worms who knows how you & your 2 year old would have reacted.

thanks for your reply, to be honest i would have accepted a £10 gift card if i hadn't gone to all the trouble of phoning and being fobbed off each time,i'm now more annoyed with the way they have dealt with it than anything.
