Evening ! ( can't bring myself to say good) :(

You know when you get a new medication and the doctor says it has the averse effect on one in 1000 people so don't worry. Well dd was the 1.

She has been having trouble with her monthlies. They have been heavy and lasting 2 weeks, so the doctor put her on the pill to try and regulate them. This was on Monday.
  • Evening everyone, i am absolutely shattered, i think more emotionally than physically :) had an eventful but lovely day, first DD1 woke up with a stomach bug about 5am, so she couldnt come :( i forgot my camera :( then DD2 and i couldnt find anywhere to park they were either full with queueing cars outside or pay and display (neither of us thought about having cash on us :() so we ended up parking at halls and having to walk across town, i promptly had a panic attack as i knew trapped nerve would be a killer, DD2 had to keep encouraging me and giving me sips of water, i thought i was going to pass out, we were late, luckily it hadnt started, DS was fuming because he said we would have to sit at back :( BUT someone must have been looking down on us, because we apologised profusely for being so late and one of the ushers smiled and said come with me, we ended up 4 rows from the front in the reserved for staff seats :rotfl:(she must have took pity on the state of me) we were even in front of DS, so it was absolutely brilliant, and i absolutely love Salisbury Cathedral so i immediately calmed down, then they had a marquee out the back for a champagne reception, DS rang one of his friends who is doing a photography degree and she came over and took some photos of us bless her, so if they are not too bad i might try and put one on here  My one and only social event of the year and im b****y glad its all over :rotfl:

OMO - poor dd. at least it is the weekend now. try to get some iron rich foods in her. I am bad in that way (always have been) and I easily go anaemic. so I think it might strengthen her a bit. I was thinking it would have been worse if it happened in PE. The school staff sounded really good.

I had depo years ago and have had 2 children since.

freespirit- glad you are ok now. all's well that end's well.

MANDCO i have red, green and white in the LR and white and silver in our conservatory (our Ice Palace) although this year i fancy adding a tiny bit of red out there
OMO thankyou i had a lovely day, sending lots of hugs to you and DD, it sent a shudder down my spine, i know exactly how she feels, at school every month i ended up in the sick room with painful periods, then through my 20s they werent too bad after having the kids, but i hit 35 and they went haywire, exactly like DD, i had to go on iron tabs, had an op, tried various tablets, injections in my stomach, collapsed on bathroom floor and ended up having to go into hosp for blood transfusion, stupidly i put up with this for over 10 years, too paranoid to go out, sometimes for weeks at a time i was stuck indoors i just couldnt face it, nothing worked then when my exH left, he said that was part of it never going out anymore  i went to my drs and just said i cant put up with it anymore, i want to die, she finally put me on Provera and i havent had periods for a year and a half now, i have got my life back, i dont have to keep letting people down, i can look forward to things like today knowing i can definitely go, its so debilitating and you feel such shame and embarassment from it so i hope to god they sort your DD out now, bless her
CRAFTYMUMMY ooh i love those button pictures i have saved the page in my favourites i might do one as a craft project next year, thankyou
    DOLLYPOP love that quilt cover

She has been having trouble with her monthlies. They have been heavy and lasting 2 weeks, so the doctor put her on the pill to try and regulate them. This was on Monday.

This morning at work she phones me from school crying. She is in a toilet cubical and is in such a mess she can't get out if it. I rang the medical room and informed them and they said they would go and find her and not to worry. I left work and started driving home when my mobile started ringing again. It's the school. They had rung for an ambulance.

Without going into to much detail, the hospital nurse said it was like dd had had her whole period at once.
Luckily she did not need a transfusion. She had injections every hour until 4, when the bleeding slowed down.

We are now home. I have a hot wash on trying to save dds favourite jeggings. Of all the days to wear them she choose today, bless her.
I am not holding out much hope, but am trying my best. They have had half a bottle of Ace bleach on them as well.

Sorry if that was too much detail for anybody, I just needed to tell someone.

Freespirit I hope your day went well :)

OMO your poor daughter :( It's such a toughie, because at that age all I was concerned with was getting things more manageable and I also ended up on the pill and depo - fast forward to 10 years later and I'm one of the unlucky ones who has unexplained infertility, which in all likelihood is partially linked to my hormonal contraceptives. If I could have gone back and told my 15 year old self just how real the risks were to my chances of motherhood, then perhaps I would have chosen a different path.

Has your daughter been tested for endo or PCOS? Doctors generally like to treat the symptoms, but aren't too interested in looking at the cause. If you can find out what is causing her terrible periods, then you will stand a better chance of finding at alternative treatment, that may actually treat it better than the depo. You'd be surprised at how much diet plays in hormonal issues - even something like a food intolerance (like gluten) can cause painful and heavy periods.

Sorry if I bored anyone, this seems to be a subject that I've gotten quite passionate about over the last few years :rotfl:

OMO I was on depo from a young age due to heavy and painful monthlies, and fell pregnant with my DS in my 30s without any difficulty. I only have one child by choice. Going on depo was one of the best things I ever did.

OMO hugs to both of you, hope the depo works, I have to say that being free of that stuff is the only benefit of being post-menopausal.
Well, Chez Invis is in chaos again! Came downstairs after my bath last night to discover that the bathroom was trying to take up residence in the kitchen. Water pouring from the ceiling through the light switch, ceiling plasterboard 'popped' and pouring through the joins. Everywhere in the kitchen was flooded. worktops, and everything on them, also the wall cupboards were soaked on the top, like a little pond behind the 'pelmet'ty thing. This is at 10 o clock. 'Bugggr' I thought, 'how unusual' (or words like that). So I'm standing there like Dido in the ruins of Carthage.
The waste pipe had become disconnected so I had to crawl about trying to access it to sort it out. Fortunately I am insured for plumbing problems, so the EMERGENCY plumber will be here this afternoon. I am so thankful I had moved the box of wrapped presents off the worktop before this!
Today will not be spent in 'The Range' after all.
