They also gave her a depo injection. This should shop her bleeding all together. As in none at all while she has it.( one injection every 12 weeks). It is the one I have and I haven't had a period since 1997. They try not to give it to young girls as it takes some time to leave your body. This could make it harder in later life to conceive. But at the moment that isn't our main consideration.

My dd was put on the depo injections in August and has gone from very heavy week long periods to only having one light day since then she is over joyed .

  • Omo - big (but gentle) virtual hugs being sent to dd. How scary for you both, hope she is comfortable & resting now x

We too find carving pumpkins a little tough, however we still roast the seeds, yummy!

Love the `pub hunt` book! I know a certain dh who would get a real kick out of reading that! Thanks for the link.
Also thanks to who posted asda baileys offer, I'm there tomorrow... Just hope they've not done a Morrison's and sold out in 24 hours lol.

Am sat in bed, feeling rather sorry for myself. Just one of those days. Might pop utube Xmas playlist on to cheer myself up

Pinknfluffy the hospital is about 5 minutes from an Asda, and I heard a couple of people saying there was hundreds of bottles in there today. I hope your local one is the same.

omo poor dd she must have been so scared glad they managed to get things under control and hope she's feeling ok. depo can be very effective however it didnt work for me it actually made things worse but that is very unusual and I do tend to have probs with any hormone based contraceptive

def like the idea of different themes for different rooms just need to decide which 3 themes I like most
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

Evening all. Been to town today and bought some Xmas goodies. Poundland have got lots of peppa pig books for little ones, the nice hard back ones too. They also had the thorntons chocolate Xmas lollies.
Also in wilkinsons they have these adorable animals in match boxes, I bought a mouse for my dds stocking £3. And sainsburys have little and I mean little fairys that sing an Xmas song for £3 they are too cute to not get. Hope that helps someone.

OMO glad your daughter is on the mend x

OMO - sorry to hear about DD but all credit to her for phoning you and to you for alerting the medical office at school. Hope the new meds regime does the trick and very glad it's all settling now and she feels like eating again. Like the nurse's comment about weight gain at Christmas. My mum is currently blaming weight gain on her steroids (which she doesn't take all the time, only when her COPD plays up)...she doesn't think about the cream cakes, nuts and chocolates that regularly find their way into her body :D

On the Christmas decs front we're going to have my interpretation of enchanted forest in hall (inspired by the pics posted on here months ago of the lovely white icicle lights in people's hallways. I have lots of small mirrors hanging on one wall anyway and am going with a white and silver theme for the hallway this year. The front room will be like Santa's grotto as usual :rotfl:I still have tree decs from when the DDs were small including some very ragged robins that survived being 'caught' from the tree in 1986 when my cats were kittens! I just can't part with them.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

OMO I am so glad your daughter is on the mend. It all sounds awful. Glad she (and the jeggings!) are ok!

I'm made up cause I have just managed to sort out DH christmas present. He pointed out to me that Alfie Boe was in concert on the 13th Dec in Cardiff in the paper and he was gutted cause he would love to see him but we are in Chester that weekend. When I checked it is actually the 2014 dates that were released today. We had an agreement that we wouldn't spend more than £25 each but I know that he has spent over the budget on me. My argument is I have only actually bought him one and one is for me !
Kids can get Daddy the new CD for Xmas. Just need to work out how to present it - just need not to let it slip before.
I was really struggling to decide what to get as well.

OMO... blood should be soaked in cold salt water.. washing it cooks it and sets the stains you were very lucky to save her clothes.. glad she is ok now though :D

You can eat carving pumpkins, they won't make you ill they just have no flavour so its a bit like eating nothing. Eating pumpkins are a different kind and are quite nomtious (make you go nom)
