Saver88... I saw those animals in match boxes too. I ummmd & arrrd for a bit over which animal to buy but ended up deciding to go for the bigger mouse bride & groom & giving it as a main present to DD2 instead, did you see them? I have seen similar over the years in posh boutiques & craft stores for a lot more money than the £8 I paid. Was really happy to have come across them. Might pop back for the little match box creatures if there is any spare pennies & time at the end of the month!
Picked up 2 9 McVities Gold chocolate bar packs yesterday in Sa1nsburys yesterday 2 for £2.50 for my pots of gold. Not sure if this was a good deal or not but hadn't seen them in £1land or the likes of for a while, so grabbed them just so I have them put away & can have another item ticked off the list.
Mrsinvisible .... what rotten bad luck. Fingers crossed for you that it can be repaired quickly.
freespirit66.... glad you had a lovely day :rudolf:
springdreams .... I love your avatar :snow_laug
Christmas preparations for the next 3 days is
*Still to sort the house out & catch up on all the washing.
*Make a final decision between a real or fake tree.
*Finish wrapping the presents I've already brought.
*Find out what food our 2 guests do & don't like. Dinner will almost certainly be turkey but I'd quite like to do salmon & pesto parcels in filo pastry for the 'ladies' for starters, pate on toast being the alternative.
Right, I must be off to work (afternoon shift) I work in retail & those Christmas preppers won't serve themselves :rotfl:0 -

Good Morning
mrsinvisable What a nightmare !! Will be able to get it all sorted by Christmas ? Is the kitchen useable ? I'm glad you saved your presents. Someone was watching over you
Well we had a good night. No accidentsDd is feeling a lot better. She is in bed watching series 4 of OFAH. She watched the first 3 last night. :rotfl:
Spoke to her today about me going to London next weekend and she is fine with it. She is hoping to be at school on Monday. So she must be on the mend.
Have been on-line this morning getting my shopping list together. I have found my ideal decoration.
Being the Christmas Scrooge of the thread ( no Tree) The truth is I actually can't stand Christmas cards either.
They just keep falling over and end up in a pile on the windowsill.
But I have found a card holder that I actually like. I am getting 2 of them, but knowing my luck nobody will send us cards this year as they all know they get on my nerves. :rotfl:

I really can't believe I will be there this time next week. It is come around so quickly. Spoke to my friend this morning and we have decided to go to Earls Court on Sunday. That way we can spend all day Saturday in London. We are going to the Southbank Christmas Fayre in the afternoon as we want to see it light up. We can have dinner there too. German Sausage and Garlic chips. ( we do like to live it up)

Morning everyone, mrsinvisible wrote: »OMO hugs to both of you, hope the depo works, I have to say that being free of that stuff is the only benefit of being post-menopausal.
Well, Chez Invis is in chaos again! Came downstairs after my bath last night to discover that the bathroom was trying to take up residence in the kitchen. Water pouring from the ceiling through the light switch, ceiling plasterboard 'popped' and pouring through the joins. Everywhere in the kitchen was flooded. worktops, and everything on them, also the wall cupboards were soaked on the top, like a little pond behind the 'pelmet'ty thing. This is at 10 o clock. 'Bugggr' I thought, 'how unusual' (or words like that). So I'm standing there like Dido in the ruins of Carthage.
The waste pipe had become disconnected so I had to crawl about trying to access it to sort it out. Fortunately I am insured for plumbing problems, so the EMERGENCY plumber will be here this afternoon. I am so thankful I had moved the box of wrapped presents off the worktop before this!
Today will not be spent in 'The Range' after all.
Oh MRSINVISIBLE what a nightmare, glad you got your presents out of the way beforehand, hope there isnt too much damage and it can be sorted out before christmas for youMrsChristmas wrote: »Saver88... Oh I like too. We tend to put a couple of selected cards out and all the rest usually end up in a pile in the cupboard till its time to take them to be recycled. What a bloomin waste of time and money.

We stick our cards up on all the doors. And the stairs, and any bare bits that don't have any decorations on. I rather enjoy it!
Can't believe how expensive stamps are now though.Definitely sending fewer cards.

Well I have just ordered 20 personalised cards for Christmas, plus 4 birthday cards (so thats me covered for birthdays until the end of January
) and an early Christmas gift for some relatives twin girls have arrived
Now I'm off into the kitchen to brave making my first ever Christmas Cake completely from scratch with no help  I've only lived in my own place since 2000My mum has always made it, or I've bought one, but this year I've decided to make my own as DD has developed a taste for it.
Next step in my Christmas prep is to get DD to write her Christmas list.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
