Happy new year to you all!

So we've just walked home from my mums around the corner with DD (8 months) asleep in her pram. We'd been home ten minutes when we heard an almighty bang and went outside to find a woman - p1ssed as a fart - has driven her car in to our next door neighbours wall then spun and smashed in to the wall opposite our drive, straight through the pavement where we've just walked our baby girl! I actually feel a little sick thinking about what could have happened - I know that sounds silly though.

Sorry for bringing it down just had to share - I cannot believe how stupid some people are risking others' lives. She even asked my husband if he'd been drinking and whether he'd say he was driving!!!

:( That is terrible, I really hope that stupid mare is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. If you had been just a little later leaving.....well it doesn't even bare thinking about! Great big hugs to you my lovely xxx

My DSiL was not good today :( getting really quiet worried about her. Purely selfish of me I know but I can't fly off to Australia with her like this. Have arranged a meeting with her surgeon and care team for Wednesday so hopefully we will then have a plan. She's now been out of ICU eleven days with no improvement, if anything I think she may even have regressed. It is heartbreaking to see her like this:(

Oh Nana I am so sorry :( I really hope that you get some positive news on Wednesday. I know it's easy to lose heart, but my auntie collapsed after a massive un-diagnosed brain tumor became so large. This was on the 31st October and even though she has undergone extensive surgery, she is now home. Have hope and know you are in our thoughts xxx

Happy New Years to you all - I didn't make it to midnight either :( DH had to take a colleague to hospital yesterday due to atrial fibrillation (DH has suffered bouts several times so spotted the signs). Despite a lovely take-away where I made us sit at the table opposite (with the telly off) he was just too exhausted to keep up the conversation.

    My NY resolutions are to;

Add to my blog at least once a week

Become more organised - no more rushing around like a loon

Only take on things that aren't going to be too much/stressful (baking for a family wedding comes to mind)

Try to appreciate what I have instead of focusing on what I don't :)

  • My main NYR is to man up this year now i am on my own and deal with things good and bad head on and not let people think they can treat me with disrespect because they think i wont say anything back and deal with my depression and anxiety because i am 46 and it really is ridiculous how much it holds me back, and it would be nice after this last horrible year for me to get back to looking after my kids and them not look after me!!

Well I'm two years older than you and sounds like things are very similar so if you want to PM me at any time I'm always about. I've had depression and all the little extras that go with it since I was fourteen. Just me and DS at home now and I'm determined to make this a year of special memories for us both. X

    Happy New Year all :)

Island Mum - I can't believe peoples stupidity when they know what they are doing is wrong!Personally I think they should change the law so that you can't even have a drink if your driving.
So glad you are safe and nobody was hurt. I lost my Dad (and nearly my brother) at the end of July and the lad that pulled out on them was driving illegally. It makes me so angry!

So today I'm currently in bed, with the worst toothache ever. After part of wisdon tooth fell out on Christmas Day, I can't really afford to go to the dentist before my appointment in February so am on the soluble aspirin.

My Mum, Brother and the pooch are coming round for dinner. DH is cooking chicken wrapped in parma ham, green beans, mangetout and mash tatties.....I'm really looking forward to it.
Then tonight we are going to my Aunt's for a buffet tea. After that back home for an early night as I have work in the morning - first day back after 9 off. So I'm relaxing and making the most of today.

For the past 2 days I've been cleaning/tidying the bedroom. I've got rid of 10 bin bags of clothes and crap :) So now the room looks lovely, sparkling and much more inviting.
  • Hi Island_mum, what a shock for you, thank goodness you are all okay. I hope the woman gets proscecuted to the full extent of the law. emalou, I'm so sorry about your Dad.
