Happy New Year!
Island mum, glad you are all ok, that woman needs locked up. My driving licence is very important to me and how people can do things like that is unthinkable.

OMG, I go away for a couple of days (well weeks really!) and come back to this! Wishing you all a very happy new year and hope all your dreams and aspirations are achieved.
Thanks to this forum and the wonderful ideas, I had the best compliment ever. My cousins kids (we grew up very closely and look on each others parents as second parents, so consequently I view his kids as my nephews and niece) were in their grandparents and were discussing their godparents. Child 3 was bemoaning the fact that he tends to be ignored by his and how lucky the others are, and then turned round and said "but Kate buys good presents for all of us!" I am the youngest's godmother, so child 3 happy that someone thinks about him. Bless him, although technically not the middle child, as the middle of the 3 boys, he does suffer a bit from middle child syndrome.
Anyway, here's to planning for 2013. Wonder if it would be a good idea to wrap anything as we buy it and then end up with a lucky dip? Could be interesting

So we've just walked home from my mums around the corner with DD (8 months) asleep in her pram. We'd been home ten minutes when we heard an almighty bang and went outside to find a woman - p1ssed as a fart - has driven her car in to our next door neighbours wall then spun and smashed in to the wall opposite our drive, straight through the pavement where we've just walked our baby girl! I actually feel a little sick thinking about what could have happened - I know that sounds silly though.
Sorry for bringing it down just had to share - I cannot believe how stupid some people are risking others' lives. She even asked my husband if he'd been drinking and whether he'd say he was driving!!!
Poor you, sounds frightening. I have an 8 month old too and that made my blood run cold. Hope karma catches up with her :mad:0 -

I finally got out to the sales just for some wrapping paper, thinking i was too late but i was surprised by how much was left in town, i got 6 rolls in Card Factory (not as cheap as some of you have found it) i paid 49p per roll, seven money wallet cards and a box of 10 xmas cards all for £3.94, then i went into boots and bought 6 gift sets all half price saving £32, i felt so chuffed. Then i got home logged down what i had got and for who, then like a saddo actually sat down and wrapped them!!! My daughter thinks i have lost the plot!
My main NYR is to man up this year now i am on my own and deal with things good and bad head on and not let people think they can treat me with disrespect because they think i wont say anything back and deal with my depression and anxiety because i am 46 and it really is ridiculous how much it holds me back, and it would be nice after this last horrible year for me to get back to looking after my kids and them not look after me!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE HOPE 2013 BRINGS GOOD TIMES TO US ALL, AND EVEN IF IT BRINGS LEMONS, LETS ALL MAKE LEMONADE
just wanted to say Im behind you 100% on this! I feel my anxiety lets me down at times too, so hopefully we can support each other and get a handle on it together in 2013! Ive been telling myself to strap on a pair most of the year, as I get the stab in the pit of my stomach when the postman comes (silly reasons I wont bore you with!) but once Ive seen the post I relax when I know its nothing awful - I need to NOT do it! am going to try and leave the post for half an hour before I go and pick it up, instead on hovering in the hall when I know postie is in the close! am so silly I know LOL! :rotfl: but I understand what you are dealing with and wish you loads of luck in dealing with it in 2013 xxxx0
