  • Good grief - I posted on the old thread on boxing day and thought I'd catch up here in a day or so and now I find you are on page 28 - how much catching up do I now have?

I'm in the US for a few weeks holiday and I've already lingered by the door of Michael's craft store as they have a 70% off sale . I swear hubby growled at me so I walked away but I'm going back in a day or so though, it's my favourite shop ever and who knows what barginous "stuff" I could find:D

I have bought some Christmas cards which were reduced and as challenged by OMO I will post full pics of the final haul when I get home. That actually presents my first 2013 challenge - I have no idea how to post photos on MSE so will have to learn.

I found an old episode of Kirsty's Homemade Christmas online and was quite taken by the heart garland she made so I may have a go at some tree decorations using leftover fabrics for next year.

FeistyFidget- I will happily regift if I think the recipient will like the gift. Last year I was given a beautiful heavily beaded and sequinned shawl which was so not me it was quite sad as it was so pretty. I gave it to a dear friends for her birthday in early summer and the shawl has been worn many times since so she is happy and I don't feel bad about having something I won't wear.

Have a happy new year everyone - here's to all of us in 2013, happy, healthy and propsperous!

scottishminnie - Hope you are having a wonderful time in America i am so jealous

I finally got out to the sales just for some wrapping paper, thinking i was too late but i was surprised by how much was left in town, i got 6 rolls in Card Factory (not as cheap as some of you have found it) i paid 49p per roll, seven money wallet cards and a box of 10 xmas cards all for £3.94, then i went into boots and bought 6 gift sets all half price saving £32, i felt so chuffed. Then i got home logged down what i had got and for who, then like a saddo actually sat down and wrapped them!!! My daughter thinks i have lost the plot!

My main NYR is to man up this year now i am on my own and deal with things good and bad head on and not let people think they can treat me with disrespect because they think i wont say anything back and deal with my depression and anxiety because i am 46 and it really is ridiculous how much it holds me back, and it would be nice after this last horrible year for me to get back to looking after my kids and them not look after me!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE HOPE 2013 BRINGS GOOD TIMES TO US ALL, AND EVEN IF IT BRINGS LEMONS, LETS ALL MAKE LEMONADE

Glad to see you moneysavingmumofone I was half way through a pm to you earlier wondering if you were ok - til my phone lost it! Pleased you are here tho I've missed you.

Happy new year to you all, here's hoping we can continue to help and support each other through 2013 as well as we did in 2012:)

My DSiL was not good today :( getting really quiet worried about her. Purely selfish of me I know but I can't fly off to Australia with her like this. Have arranged a meeting with her surgeon and care team for Wednesday so hopefully we will then have a plan. She's now been out of ICU eleven days with no improvement, if anything I think she may even have regressed. It is heartbreaking to see her like this:(

Been next door to our wonderful neighbours to see the new year in :) saw it in at 4pm with DS, DDiL and DGD (midnight in Australia)

Happy new year to you all!

So we've just walked home from my mums around the corner with DD (8 months) asleep in her pram. We'd been home ten minutes when we heard an almighty bang and went outside to find a woman - p1ssed as a fart - has driven her car in to our next door neighbours wall then spun and smashed in to the wall opposite our drive, straight through the pavement where we've just walked our baby girl! I actually feel a little sick thinking about what could have happened - I know that sounds silly though.

Sorry for bringing it down just had to share - I cannot believe how stupid some people are risking others' lives. She even asked my husband if he'd been drinking and whether he'd say he was driving!!!
