    I am looking forward to making more meals in the good ole slow cooker. Cnt wait until xmas day so that I can make some scotch broth.

    Thanks for the help....my new gas hob doesn't simmer like my old electric one did so I am having a hard time dealing with anything that needs slow cooking, so I guess I will invest in one during the week and see exactly what I can cook in it, seems versatile enough to be worth the cost

    Thanks Shelbel - that's what's in my sc today then, onions, leeks, chicken legs, peppers. I'll fry up some mashed potatoes from yesterday and serve it up with that.

  • hi, been lurking for a while as haven't had a slow-cooker meal on meal plan for a few weeks:eek:...

    beef and guinness stew in mine today, will add dumplings towards the end. chucked in a diced potato, some carrots, an onion, celery, pack of stewing beef, some coarse grain mustard, glug of worcestershire sauce, two teaspoons of bisto for thickening, couple of bay leaves and a shake of mixed herbs. can't smell it yet, but looking forard to it already! x

    This thread has inspired me to get the SC out again. Main prob is DH doesn't like slow cooked food/stews/casseroles....grrrr. I made a gorgeous beef in guineess hotpot the other day but he wouldn't eat it! However I'm going to have a good read of this thread and try some things like spag bol etc. I've just never bothered as it works so well and is so quick cooked on the hob.

    Today i have
    beef medallions, cubed
    chopped mushrooms, red pepper and onions
    a jar of sausage caserole sauce
    a tin of vegetable soup
    bit of a throw together affair but im sure it will taste delicious.

    If he works then place it in the slow cooker and transfer it to the hob before he gets in. lol

    Lamb Curry in mine.

    3 Lamb rump steaks, 7 mushrooms 1 onion diced 3 carrots grated. 2 potoato's cubed and fried in curry paste for 25 mins then chucked in the s/c Add in a jar of tesco korma sauce and it smells lurvely!!!
    Save £1000 in 100 days 20th july - 22 oct - so far 25.00

    Beef and onions.

    Cubed beef, onions, tin of tomatoes, oxo cube topped up with water. Peppercorns, salt, mustard to taste.
