I'm new to this slow cooker lark! Yesterday, I had Roast Chicken and had plenty of leftovers. I made stock from the carcass. Can I make a chicken casserole today using the stock and the cooked leftover chicken from yesterday?
If so, does the cooked chicken go in the slow cooker at the beginning with the other ingredients, or should it go in later as its already cooked?0 -
Just made a chilli for chilli beef wraps tonight; now a steamed jam pudding is cooking away in there, and I've prepped up a corned beef hash for tomorrow night .... cor, have got today off as DS1 is at home poorly, if only I was at home every day I could be this organised!!!!! Double servings of each meal as well, so I'm well ahead of myself for next week now, too!!That's Numberwang!0

That's my problem - I can't really need to put stuff in the morning, then pop home at lunchtime and check on it - then when I get home - eat it as going straight out - .... damn it I knew this wouldn't work!!
Thanks for replying though!LBM - 17th November 2008 - better late than never

Little Emms,
You can add a handful of barley at the start in the morning, and when you get home it will have thickened already. When I do this I find no need for cornflour or anything.Wendy x0 -
