Okay it has to be said... if anyone tells you to stick cocoa in your chilli, run away. It's not nice, not one bit. We ate a portion each - bless my family they tried. But the leftovers went in the bin not the freezer.

    Better luck tomorrow!

    Oh dear!

I always put a teaspoon or two of dark chocolate powder to my chilli's - and everyone reckons I make the best Chilli they know of - even my chef mate! (I was taught how to do it in Mexico!!!). You do need really good quality dark chocolate or chocolate powder though - cadburys drinking chocolate or equivalent just doesn't do the biz!
It gives a really rich flavour and intensifies the heat of the chilli.

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone buys there meat for stews, shins, neck etc from their local farm shop? I always avoided mine but i cant belive how cheap they are in comparison to the supermarkets. The price per pack is roughly the same but you get at least half again and the meat is much nicer. They also sell packs of dried pulses, beans and barley etc really cheap. Also free range eggs are 70p less than the supermarkets. Has anyone else found this?
