I did look at them. Although I use the SC a lot, I'm in most of the time so will be able to keep an eye on it, and turn the temp up/down accordingly! My friend's got both and she says its fine.0

I spent days dealing with boiled dry pressure cookers last year, several valves and seals later I had wasted a huge amount of time and money. so much easier this year and I dont have to be in for the 8 hours they take to steam!
My slow cooker is about the only kitchen gaget that DH has agreed was worth buying as it saves time and money (unlike all the others that sit in the cupbourd never getting used).
Great tip Swishy_bell........
Another related "Christmas Day" tip, is to steam your homemade or shop bought pud in the slow cooker - make sure there is water half way up the basin, and heat up for a couple of hours before you need it Saves a hob space desperately needed for other things:xmassmile , will not boil dry, and you can do it before you get into the panic zone..........
Hurrah!Annie
