Does anybody have a copy of the instruction manual/menu booklet for a Cookworks SC35A Slow Cooker purchased from Argos a few years ago?
If so, i would appreciate a copy if this could be arranged?
Thanks
Laner
Hey laner welcome to MSE
What instructions do you need? I think most slow cookings normally have settings such as low or high and even 'warming'. You can pick up lots of tips on this thread of how to use it - good luck

I've been through the cupboards and chucked a load of stuff in the slow cooker in the hope that it'll turn out edible when I get home from work :rotfl:
I've put in carrots, parsnips, red and white onion, frying steak cut into cubes, a tin of tomatoes, mixed herbs, stock cube, big glug of red wine, salt and pepper. If it's still a bit runny when I get home I'll strain it and reduce the liquid for a few minutes on the hob.
If it turns out minging I'll throw a few spuds in the microwave and have jacket potatoes instead

Just a bit of advice please......!
I am using my sc for the first time today cooking a beef stew. I have veg in and potatoes as well. I browned the meat first. Does the liquid had to cover all the meat/veg? mine does not as yet but I am thinking of adding more.....
Also I have it on low which will be for approx 7 hours. Is this Ok, or should I put it on high for a couple of hours first?????
Thanks!0 -
I would think 7-8 hours on low would be plenty. As for liquid I think this is a personal preference. I find if you put enough to cover the solids then it becomes very runny and needs to be thickened. I prefer to use little liquid and thin out at the end in needed.

Right my curry turned out ok. Not quite hot enough for us, but it was a succesful experiment. We have loads of snow coming down now and I feel a stew coming on. I'm just going to go and have a root in the freezer / cupboard / veg basket to see what I can make. I might put it on overnight tonight.Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

It's a soup day today. I had some roasted parsnips and sweet potatoes left over from Sunday, so I fried off an onion and garlic clove, added ground cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, ginger and cinnamon. Then tossed the roasted veggies in it and added a tin of tomatoes. Blitzed it all with the hand blender, then transferred it to the crock pot and added a couple of teaspoons of stock powder, a couple of handsful of red lentils and about a litre of water. Oh, and a couple of bay leaves too for good measure!
Smells good already!0 -
second time to use my slow cooker but first time i've left it whilst in work so very nervous!
Got mince, carrots, peas, onion and mushrooms with a beef stock. Sort of sheps pie mix and potatoes in saucepan ready to cook when I get home. Really cant wait xx0 -
I`ve got carrots, onions and mushrooms in mine. I shall add a decent amount of white wine and add the chicken later as it`s going on overnight again when the electricity is cheap again.
Later in the largest slowcooker i shall be steaming a huge steak and kidney pudding for tea.
Does anyone have any idea how long this will take and what i should cover the dish with? I was thinking greaseproof for the dish but wondered if anyone had better suggestions or even if i should just leave it uncovered.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon
