  • I made a beef stew with dumplings today, it was my most successful SC meal yet! :j
It was so scrummy, I will definitely make it again.

This one. Unlike a traditional risotto cooked with butter and uncooked chicken it used cooked chicken and oil instead of butter. I always use Carnaroli or Arborio on the hob and this time tried Paella rice which may have contributed to it? But there was really no flavour to it anyway even using the chicken stock from a SC chicken.

I can see some possible ingredients in the link:

    "....Tray of chicken breast steaks
    Onions
    new potatoes
    runner beans
    cauliflower..."

Is this what you used. I could see myself adding some garlic/lemon/seasalt, perhaps to?

Chicken drumsticks with carrot, swede and parsnip. Drop of water. Drumsticks whipped out about 10mins before dishing and popped on oven tray to brown in oven. Veg mashed up a little (have to hide whats in it or they wont eat it!) and little gravy granules added. Dished with roast pots and peas.

    Yummy.

  • I have some potatoes, carrots and green beans in mine, with a bit of stock and 2 turkey drumsticks. I've taken the turkey out and taken it off the bone (didn't take much doing - it practically fell off the bone!). I threw in some pearl barley to thicken it up, and will dish up in a couple of minutes! Smells nice though :)

I'm also making some stock with the bone and skin and 'stuff', which is the first time I've done that. Used the Hugh F-W recipe and it smells pretty good. Will probably use it to make a risotto later in the week - will have to find a good recipe on here first though :D
