Just 2 lamb steaks with some peppercorn sauce in mine today.

Question though - does the meat (especially a joint) have to be completey covered by liquid?

    Thanks in advance

I used to think so, but since I've got my huge MR slow cooker, I've done a couple of brisket joints where I haven't covered it, just up to half way and it's been fine.

Did a spag bol in mine yesterday, but OH was off (cos of the snow) the lovely smells drove him crazy all day lol.
I never thought about it before, Ok it fills the house with lovely smells, but he said he couldn't stand it all day as it made him "starving" rofl.

Got some leftovers which I will turn into chilli for tea today.

The lentil soup I made yesterday was really nice and there's enough leftover for me to have some more today and tomorrow, so I've switched it back on.

Tried the risotto recipe yesterday and it was pretty much a disaster - hardly any flavour and the rice was overcooked in 1.5 hrs.

Reheating sweet and sour chicken from the freezer today.

Chilli con carnie in SC today - I thought it was just right for a "chilli" day.
Will be boiling some rice on the stove.

What recipe was this? I have made one before, and it turned out fine, although I think next time I will cook for less time.

This one. Unlike a traditional risotto cooked with butter and uncooked chicken it used cooked chicken and oil instead of butter. I always use Carnaroli or Arborio on the hob and this time tried Paella rice which may have contributed to it? But there was really no flavour to it anyway even using the chicken stock from a SC chicken.
  • I have used my slow cooker with chicken left overs and put carrot, leek and mushrooms in along with chicken stock, pinch of salt an a bit of worcester sauce and yet it always taste bland!
    Daughter refuses to eat it!
    Nevermind the chippy is open.
