i think it was ok to eat but my mentailty said it wasnt right so wont be doing that again
not sure what to have tomorrow, no rushing in evening so might just have beans on toast lol
At least you had a go. I've never tried them that way, so its good to know how you got on with it. I'll definitely stick to microwaving then.0 -

I did baked potatoes in my sc last week, and while they weren't as good as they are when baked in the oven, I preferred them over microwaved ones. I washed and dried the potatoes, then rubbed a little bit of salt over them, then wrapped in foil and put them in the sc. The insides were soft and fluffy - the skins didn't get that nice dry crispness you get from the oven, but they didn't have that sogginess you get from the mw either.0 -

They are nicer in the oven IMO. Its good to hear yours were ok. The trouble is figuring how long to do them for. My favourite way is to microwave for a few minutes, then pop in the oven for 10/20 mins to crisp up the skins. Not so MSE as just using the SC, or microwave, but it works.0 -

After having Gammon joint cooked in apple juice yesterday used teh remaining gammon and sstock/juice to make a lentil and bacon soup today. Its only a 3.5lb cook works one but it has managed to be filled to the brim and feed 7, many of whom had seconds and one had thirds with enough left for hubby and me for lunch tomorrow.
I cant believe how 'bottomless' SC's are. It doesn't seem to matter what is cooked in mine there always seems enough to have left overs after at least 2 meals, unless i do a milk pudding then kids make sure its polished off.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

They freeze well, and reheat OK tend to lose the crispiness on the skin but a great quickie for kids and for taking to work lunch box.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0

I know what you mean!!! I only have a 1.5ltr sc (I live on my own) and I easily get 4 generous portions whenever I make anything!!
Last night I got home to a lovely beef stew – I had 2 bowlfuls with bread and butter last night, took some to work for lunch and still got at least 2 bowlfuls for tea/supper later!!!!!!0
