Have all the stuff ready for tomorrow, diced and sliced pots and carrots, a tin of peas, a tin of veg soup (kids prefered tomato or chicken on its own) and the chasseur mix. And the chicken in the fridge of course.
I think this might be another one the kids pull a face at :(

How long do I have to let the other leftovers cool for before I put them in the fridge/freezer? I have filled two tubs :) so another 2 meals out of that lot, will have it with jacket pots in a couple of days (kids wont like it lol)

If they're not cooled down enough, leave until the morning, then put in the fridge/freezer first thing. They should be fine if left in a covered container, in a cold kitchen.

Did you buy the cookworks model in the end? It does make really nice bread. The french bread setting just has a longer rise time, which is probably fine if you use the French Bread recipe, and experiment first.

I used the traditional white loaf recipe,
Yes the same model as you (Cookworks silver/black). I've tried only the traditional white except I didn't have milk powder so omitted it. The texture of the bread is great. I only had access to rapid yeast from the local Sainsburys but bought some Doves yesterday so will try that on the weekend.

Are your recipes in cups? Mine are gms luckily, can't cope with cups. If you want them in metric PM me an email address and I'll send them on. Will try a French overnight.

There's a recipe for chocolate and orange bread on the yeast packet think I may try that next :j

Morning all, earlier I browned some whoopsie pork and in the pot it went with lots of veg. Onion, pepper, carrots, sweed, sw.corn and pea's. So looking colourful! A jar of Asda smart price curry sauce.
Cooked on high for 1 hr and then turned down to low for about 8 hrs.
Will cook rice in a pan on the stove later.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.

I'm using Doves yeast. It works well. I like it because there aren't any unnecessary additives.

I actually bought some scales, which luckily do fluid ozs, metric, and imperial from Tesco. Without them, it was a bit tricky.

    The Choc/Orange bread sounds great.
