Yum, yum. Haven't done roast joint for ages in the SC. Sounds delicious.

Sausage casserole. Was going to just do sausages baked in the oven, but the kids love sausage casserole.

Apples will work wonderfully. Just put about an inch or so of water in the bottom, and you should be fine.

Put some salt on the rind to cut off and stick in the oven to make a lovely crisp crackling.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

  • I was thinking about doing a beef joint in the slowcooker. I've never cooked a beef joint befor and normally I'd bung it in the oven BUT the oven isn't working properly atm

I have a 3.5 litre morphy richards oval sc, how big a bit of beef would I fit in there and how long would it take? Also would it be very pink inside when it's finished cooking... we prefer well done.

Nothing in my sc today but hopefully a nice chilli tomorrow... yum yum!!!!!
Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.

I am pretty new to the SC experience, having used mine only 3-4 times (bought about a week ago) but today I made beef brisket and it was to die for. The meat was so tender I could not believe my own mouth :j

By the way, I had never even heard of SCs until I read this thread and if it wasn't for all your heartfelt recommendations I would not have bought one so thanks for the tip, I love my slowcooker now

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Really simple but absolutely delicious.

One bag of Tesco Moroccan Style Lamb Chops, these are on offer at the minute for £1 per bag.

One jar of Sainsburys Basics Curry Sauce which is currently 4p !!!!!

I chucked in one medium size cubed potato, half a carrot that I had sitting in the fridge and half an onion.

Cooked on low for 9 hours and had with boiled rice.

    Bloomin' lovely. ;)

Scouse in mine today - shin beef, carrots, onions, leeks, parsnips, swede, potatoes, celery, broth mix, mixed herbs, celery salt and three beef oxos/1veg oxo - will be cooking all day (till around 6.00pm) with herby dumplings going in about 45mins from the end.

Oh yes and a jar of Pickled Red Cabbage to go with it .
