Yes. Put a couple of tablespoons of flour/cornflour (it doesn't matter what, although I've been lately converted to cornflour through this forum!) in a cup and add to a small amount of liquid. Stir vigourously before adding to slow cooker, and cook as long as you can, until it thickens.
I had this problem today, when I was cooking a mixture for shepherds pie. I hadn't used enough flour, so had to add some. Its bubbling away nicely now though.0 -

not quite boef burginon, more woopsied beef chianti!
600g woopsied beef 99p - fried off and floured
1 stick bendy celery
3 carrots - on offer at llydl
3 onions
dash worcestershire sauce + some mixed herbs
1/2 glass leftover chianti + some water
mushroom stalks chopped finely - i hope they'll melt into the gravy
handful barley
handful green split peas
~ i hope there's enough water to rehydrate the peas and barley. i always used them on the hob, but this is first time in slow cooker. so i made sure there was more liquid than i'd usually use in s/c. is this right? oh well, i dont mind thickening the gravey later.
~ it's probably gonna have 9 hours on low before i add dumplings. can't help it though. dont wanna leave it on high all that time. humm. oh well, we'll see.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23.
