In my slow cooker today...

possibly. Slow cookers are fine to be left on, honestly! That's what they are made for and what their purpose is, to leave on all day!
Think when you get home (assuming around5ish?) that you'll be better off lifting the crock out and putting in the oven for an hour or so (lid off unless it's oven proof!)Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

Hiya, got up and stared early in the kitchen.
In the slow coooker is pumpkin soup. I lightly fried 1 chopped onion and also chopped the pumpkin into small pieces and in they went with 2 1/2 pts of vegetable stock. Will put in the blender later.
The small pumpkin was £1 from Mr. T's.
Breadmaker is also on to cook a 2lb basic loaf to eat with the soup.
From the Tesco magazine, Sep/Oct issue I cooked the apple and blackberry tray bake in the oven. I picked the blackberries this morning from the garden, had apples given. The cake turned out well.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

A bit of advice if possible, I put my slow cooker on this morning on high for 1 1/2 - in there is stewing steak, potatoes, carrots, chorizo, onion and chopped tomatoes, but I left for work with it on and then chickened out about leaving it all day so went home and turned it off, how long will I have to have it on tonight before we can eat it or have I totally ruined a meal and will have to go and get something else.
Thats a shame, the ingredients look delicious. In the 10 years I've owned one, I leave it on unattended most days, and it has always been fine. I try to push mine out a few cms from the wall, and make sure that the lead doesn't touch the SC, before turning it on, if I remember! I have never had a problem at all though.
If heated adequately, food should be fine. Was your slow cooker bubbling away when you turned it off? Its probably best to stick it in the oven now for a while, as has already been suggested by TrixieB. At least an hour should do. Just make sure your SC pot is ovenproof!0 -
I know I am really annoyed with myself, will put it in the oven when I get in for an hour or so any idea at what temperature. Will put it on next week.0
