Today I am cooking a 2 pint rice pudding as I want a pud to last for a couple of days as tonight I am having
starters; HM Leek and Tattie soup
main course; Tuna & sweetcorn salad
desert; Rice pudding. By having a soup and a pud I can cut back on the dinner bit in the middle This way I shall be filled up without having to spend too much as I am on a bit of an economy drive and am shopping from my cupboards0 -
I have a big batch of beef mince and onions and oxo in, tonight we'll have mince and boiled tatties with cabbage, then the rest will be frozen ready for future shepherds pie, filled yorkie puds and pasties
I bulked it out with a bit of soya mince, not as much as I wanted to use as I dropped the lot on the floor as the packet split fgs.Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

Oooh, rice pudding - I haven't had that for ages!
Today I had a small (250g) pack of stewing steak that was reduced to £1.32 in asda.
I added 2 onions, 3 chopped carrots, 1/3 of a butternut squash, half a punnet of baby plum tomatoes, a few mushrooms, a clove of garlic and some oxo
Oh, and 2 handfuls of pearl barley - very important!
Off to peel the spuds before I start work!0 -
A bit of advice if possible, I put my slow cooker on this morning on high for 1 1/2 - in there is stewing steak, potatoes, carrots, chorizo, onion and chopped tomatoes, but I left for work with it on and then chickened out about leaving it all day so went home and turned it off, how long will I have to have it on tonight before we can eat it or have I totally ruined a meal and will have to go and get something else.0
