In my slow cooker today...

I found them in Sainsburys this weekend too just after I'd bought cornflour in Wilkos
Tried them in my sausage casserole (must try something new next but I do love it lol
) and they worked brilliantly.
Thanks for the tip!!!!
I just really can't be bothered with cornflour. The boxes are stupidly designed so the stuff goes everywhere (actually CK asked me why I don't open it over the sink the other day and I gave him an evil glare because I never thought of that, duh) and I can never find it in tubs. Then it needs making into a paste - oh the hassle... I'd rather have dribbly sauce. I'm a lazy cook (hence I :heart2: slow cooking) so granules make me happy.
Nothing in my slow cooker today because it suffered a nasty burning incident yesterday and is now undergoing emergency care.

I'd like to make a big batch of spag. bol. for the freezer but I'm a little unsure on the amounts of ingredients.
I've got the mince, pasta sauce, mushrooms, tinned tomatoes but I'd like to bulk it out with some red lentils - like many of you do.
The problem is how much do I put in? And won't it absorb all the liquid?0 -
Chicken chasseur in mine today.
Seem to be on a chicken thigh buying spree recently - the slow cooker make life so much easier

Depends how many meals you plan on getting out of it. I make enough for about 8 portions using mincemeat, 2 or 3 of handfuls of lentils, peppers and mushrooms.
No, they won't absorb all the liquid - they just make your meal go further, e.g. you can afford to use more tomatoes with the extra lentils.0 -
I been playing with my slow cooker to use up bits and pieces and have just made a batch of Chutney. Have had success with cheesecake in the past. Would be interested to hear what else other people have tried.
you wouldnt have a recipe please? Ive never made chutney before.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Thank you, I shall given it a go tomorrow morning :T0 -
In mine today - some roasted tomatos (purchased in a bargain £1 tray from farm shop, along with 3 leeks, about 2lbs of baby turnips, a huge butternut squash and a bunch of asapragus) some garlic, and some veggie stock (quality stuff bought at silly price off a short best before date stall on the market) to make roast tomato and garlic soup....Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
