Ok, I have made my washing up liquid by boiling 1 litre of water and adding 4 grams of soda crystals, 4 grams washing soda, 1 teaspoon white vinegar and a few drops of treetree oil.
I have washed up once with my mixture and so far so good. I will keep using it this week so I can make sure it washes everything well.
So it seems to be a good start for me.:T
Well done :j:j. How are you getting on?
I have been using star drops this week and I have to say I am not going back:T

I'm not winnie! Still haven't done my mending, or even started it. I keep telling myself I still have 4 days to go! Always a bad thing to start telling yourself. Guaranteed I will be sat down Sunday morning doing it.0

I'd love to join please. My New Years resolution is to be more OS and try and live more simply.
My first challenge for this week is to skin and cook a pheasant!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I'm not joking.
We got two pheasants from a friend yesterday so my OH and I will be skinning them in the next couple of days.
Wish me luck, will keep you updated and let you know the recipe when I find one.
I would also love to try and make my own cushion cover in the next few weeks but I have a particular style in mind and I need to buy material for it, so in order to stay frugal I will try and sell something on eBay to fund this.
Making own washing powder sounds very appealing as well!0 -

Hello, could I join in please?
Our resolution is to have more in savings at the end of the year than we do now. All my challenges will be about money saving. I have used stardrops in the past and like it, so why is my cleaning cupboard full of bottles and sprays? My first challenge is to use up all the stuff in the cleaning cupboard that stardrops can be used for. That will help declutter the cupboard and save us money. Might take longer than a week though, but I will report back and let you know how I'm getting on.

Hi everyone, I'd love to join in - your challenges are really inspiring me!
Mine this week is to knit a toy giraffe (I'm halfway through) as my sister gave me the pattern and yarn for Christmas. Barely knitted at all in 2012 so want to do it a lot morePart time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

I have completed all my mending today and sewn a "camp sitter " for camping out of a pillowcase, carrier bag and kappox.Decorated it with permanent marker for my daughters Girl Guide jamboree in Tasmania at the weekend.Zero cost.
Also labelled all her clothes, camp gear, crockery and saved $45 on a camp hoodie as I bought a commemorative badge at $1.70 and sewed it onto a Nike hoodie that DD1 handed in for recycling earlier that day! Also fashioned a camp blanket from a free "Royal Carribbean " blanket and personalised it with a selection of coloured buttons, name tags, guide badges and embroidered DD2's name on it.
My plans this year are to be a super old styler and continue to make my homemade gifts,to date - relish, lemon curd, pot pourri,HM pasta sauces, seedlings and fabric softener.
This years newies are - Join the Australian Japanese Society in Darwin to make some new and interesting friends.
Buy a gift card at each weekly / fortnightly shop towards my families Christmas gifts.
Try my hand at making homemade room deoderisers and also homemade gel air freshners.
Grow parsnips and carrots in bottles as per this website-very excited at this one:T
And there will be may more so I'lll et you know how I go..
