Indeed, if you look at post~336, the OP had said that there were no murders or suicides in the house, so I think that the concern is genuine in so much that the OP is not trying to "big up" the situation.
I am not a person who believes or disbelieves in the paranormal, but I would not discount the possibility that things really do happen.
I know a couple of people who have had scary experiences in the past, and there is no logical explanation for them at all.0 -
I contacted the OP some months ago as I had told some friends about this thread and they offered to set up some cameras for her. She declined.
Since then very little appears to have happened. I think somebody had their bluff called
With all due respect, not many people would welcome complete strangers heard of through an internet forum into their home, even if it might have been of help. You could have been complete chancers for all anyone knows (sorry, I'm sure you were all legit but you do see my point?)
I certainly wouldn't, even although I (have previously)shared half my life on here.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Sorry I haven't posted recently, but things have really quietened down. I know it might sound silly but I think as we did more and more work on the house (still not finished) it kind of became 'ours' and the atmosphere/presence/whatever it was, receded. It was the strangest experience I have ever gone through and would not like to live through it ever again.
I will always be grateful to everyone who tried to help, your support kept me going. I do still read threads on this forum but rarely post.0 -
Thank you for updating.
I'm pleased the house has 'settled' and become more yours.0 -

I'm glad that you've reclaimed your home and feel at peace in it.0 -
We've just been reminded of this thread today, so came back for a looksee.
It may well be that the act of physically "claiming" the home has been sufficient to put a stop to matters "supernatural".
I'm guessing a lot of previous (now dead) owners would be curious about what had happened to their old home. Once the house has clearly been made into someone else's home, then the curiosity is satisfied and off they go.
The house I recently bought is a probate house. From what I've heard of the previous owner she wasn't a bad person (bit of a devious son, aka the vendor of the house:cool:..with all the things he must have known but didn't mention about the house itself:mad:). She doesn't sound too bad though.
Shortly after moving in, the friend who accompanied me here and I both heard a one-off loud inexplicable noise and he queried with me whether I had heard it too (and I had). I just turned round and addressed her (ie previous owner) in exactly the same way I would if I had been able to see her and told her that it's mine now and requested her to leave and not return. She did. No more inexplicable noises.
Mind you...I doubt she'd want to visit anyway, with the state the house is in. It's currently pretty much a building site, as I am renovating it.0 -
So in other words, the OP just got comfortable in a new home and it wasn't strange anymore. Funny that.

I feel an atmosphere in my house, always have and its constantly there, in the living room and bathroom. My OH doesn't feel it but even when hes in the living room with me or he leaves the room, it feels like someones on the other sofa watching0
