hmmm I'd be too scared to do a seance in case it stirred anything up..Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0

Just found this thread - REALLY interesting. I'm a skeptic, and I definitely think Acorah is a fake (Google "Rik Eedles" or "Kreed Kafer") and who would put most for-fame/profit-'mediums' in the same basket as Clinton Baptiste from 'Phoenix Nights' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWmdEqwgit4).
BUT, I can understand why Omnasia is feeling uncomfortable. No-one knows for definite what is or isn't happening; the only things we can be certain of are our own ideas and beliefs.
I didn't read every single post minutely, so I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned that wood and other materials used in older houses expand and contract according to relative humidity or moisture in the atmosphere. Also, it was considered very unfashionable to smile in early photographs, so any documentary evidence might not be the most forthcoming.
I just wanted to say that I don't think Omnasia is mad at all, but I think it can make things worse sometimes if the route of a seance or ouija-board investigation is taken. I (genuinely, not friend-of-a-friend) know someone who used an ouija board as a bit of a laugh with some friends, when she was living in an older house. She's certain that they called up the spirit of a 3 year-old girl who'd died in a fire in the house about 75 years previously. I've got no idea whether this was genuine or not, but my friend was so spooked by the experience that it really messed-up her life for a while.
I'd also be a bit alarmed about the church (or whoever) wanting to install cameras. Surely exorcisms have to be faith-based? And, if you have that faith, you shouldn't need to check on whether or not it's worked...
Good luck OP. x0 -
I haven't read all the answers, sorry if I'm repeating anything. Our last house was the same, it was pretty creepy for sure. Even our kids' friends wouldn't stay the night, very odd things happened and I hated being on my own, upstairs in the house. There are too many happenings to list but I know exactly how you feel. I went to our priest and asked him to bless the house and I promise you it seemed to calm down, all the happenings, well they just didn't any more. Even if you aren't religious, go to the local, priest, vicar, mullah, rabbi, or whatever it doesn't matter. Go ask them to bless the house, it worked for us.0

It's the Aussie visitors that mentioned setting up a camera, not the church.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Ah, OK. Thanks for mentioning that - silly me!In this case, it sounds like a very sensible idea. At least that's one sure-fire way of investigating whether or not it's "something", nothing, or just a couple of rats or mice getting in and scrattin' around...!

Personally, I would not allow them to do a seance. Not because I think anything will happen but if you are already quite scared, I think it might not be a good thing psychologically. Hope it all settles down soon Omnasia.0

Yes, I agree - be very wary about doing a sceance. By all means invite someone from the nearest Spiritualist Church. It really does help to have someone who can 'shine a light' in the darkness, rather than light a candle that the 'unwelcome' can home in on!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

I agree. Such things can get out of hand. Even if they are done with the most innocent and well-meaning of intentions.
Hope Omnasia comes back soon - I actually find myself getting a bit concerned about her. xxx0 -
Another NO vote for the seance here. For the reasons already mentioned, it MAY just stir things up AND Omnasia needs to live there.
If anything I would just send 'unconditional love' from your heart to the spirits and acknowledge that you have felt/seen them and then politely ask them to leave the house. :A0
