Thanks for the update and why you call them the aussies.

You say you are not writing a book and I believe you, but think you have enough material for one
Nah, maybe enough for a chapter, but writing a book is much much harder than that;)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Have you had any more 'goings on'? Did you find anything about the History of the house?
  • I'd like to know this aswell :)
    Save, save, save, save.

Hi everyone, sorry to have not got back but we have started the preliminary work on converting the outbuildings, just the family that is so it has been a lot of hard work, clearing rubbish, old wood etc. I do not ever want to do it again !

It has been farily quiet, the latch on the door was going like the clappers but I have made a kind of thing to block it - just a square of polystyrene which the latch actually digs into and it has been quiet. I have had to replace it though as it was starting to fall to pieces. I can live with it and no more big bangs !

My husband had been working on the history and managed to do a bit more recently. He has not found anything about a murder or suicide but as yet has not gone through every year or every census etc. He did find something in a newspaper about a former occupant who died following an accident. It was about 1880 I think and this unfortunate man went drinking in a local Inn and when getting into his horse and trap, fell backwards onto his head and died later.

If we find out any more, will update. I am getting used to living with noises now but the whole atmosphere is calmer. Whether that is down to the vicar's blessing, the visit from the medium or just to us being more accepting and understanding there is nothing harmful, I don't know. I'm just grateful that it feels better now. I was so frightened at first but now it feels more like 'our' house !

And the more you put into it - either your own physical work or planning or designs - the more it will be yours.

What's happened in the past is the house's history but you are the next stage in its future.
  • Thanks for updating. Hope your conversion goes well. Do pop back when you can and let us know how it goes.

    Glad it's feeling calmer.
  • How's it going now? Has it all settled down?

I contacted the OP some months ago as I had told some friends about this thread and they offered to set up some cameras for her. She declined.

Since then very little appears to have happened. I think somebody had their bluff called
