No I don't really, but the OP was asking about how her money was in limbo, not to be criticized about their bank balance, and ethics about how much money covers the cost of feeding a family.0

Wow. Just, wow.0

Oh God, not this question again. A quick Google search would give you the answer.
1. £17.45 minus £10.80 isn't £6.49.
2. Your money was in limbo - Asda didn't receive it but they 'pre authorised' it which takes a few days to drop off.
3. You could have fed your kids for £6.49, if you chose not to and let them go hungry you should probably get help.0 -

Were my kids genuinely starving one of the first things to go would be the internet and the computer sold to pay for food so unless OP was posting from a library at 11pm at night I do have my doubts that their children were genuinely starving.
There was the campaign recently to give poorer kids free laptops.0 -
should have used the cashpoint machine!!!"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0

Still doesn't pay the broadband bill though
Here's how I see it. OP has a genuine complaint with Asda, however, in order to perhaps elicit a little sympathy and compo they embellish the tale with a couple of starving kids.
If money really genuinely was that tight they wouldn't be buying tictacs.
Now, had OP come here and said "Hey, Asda charged me twice how long before the money goes back in" I suspect they would have gotten a factual reply but when posters start inventing starving children most people lose interest.0 -
Pulliptears, you and me are both from the same area so we have both seen families living on the breadline going without and to be fair to the OP we don't know if they had suffered some sort of extraordinary expense leaving them particularly short that week.
Also, I have got to say that no matter how poor I got I would keep a phone active because of emergencies etc.
Fact remains that the OP wanted her ten pounds and was left without it temporarily because of a problem with Asda's systems, so therefore was left with a few quid to get some shopping - not good enough on Asda'a part, and I hope they complained and they gave them a couple of pounds of vouchers.
Not every family has the great Christmas pictured on TV, and for people to post comments on their finances and the management of them just isn't fair.0 -

OP bought their finances into it when a few starving kids appeared. As I said had they simply asked when the money would go back in they would have avoided all this, but the addition/embellishment led to people commenting on finance.
Incidentally, the families I do know who are genuinely on the breadline have no net access, no laptop, an old PAYG phone and a cupboard full of foods as suggested above, pastas sauces etc.Stop trolling its Xmas give them a break.

Reading these boards, imagine the response to Jesus turning up with pregnant wife at the inn. Tis truly the season of goodwill on MSE0
