Our vouchers were redeemed in store without a clubcard being presented.
Excuse me for asking, but how do you know that?

Is there any more info on what has actually gone on - it seems unlikely that people have been phished/hacked on clubcard and nothing else if it is not a problem with Tesco systems. Is it not something the information commissionar should be dealing with, Tesco allowing thrid parties access to customer data also breaches the data protection act.
    I think....
  • I too have just become a victim of this, I wish there was more publicity about it or I would have been more vigilant, I also save my cc points throughout the year for Christmas or days out.
Tonight I try to buy my daughters Christmas present to find all my vouchers have been spent in London and Stroud, but I live in Devon!
I am absolutely gutted to be honest, we don't have much money and I was relying on that for my children's Christmas presents :(
I have reported it to action fraud and will be reporting it to the police and Tesco in the morning, will let you know how I get on

We went into Tesco yesterday to do a big shop and was horrified when we presented our vouchers to find only the £1 was accepted !! the Cashier said the rest have been used ? we were told to contact Clubcard ! which we have today ! we have lost nearly everything ! leaving only the £1 ones ! they spent them at Crouch End ??? not even sure where that is ? we could not access our on-line account until we got through to Tesco then the awful truth dawned !....can not get through to the fraud department !, apparently they are BUSY !! not surprised !.....awful ...
  • I had £74.40 worth of vouchers stolen from my account. The fraudster used them in London at three separate stores. It would be a big help if Tesco noticed when our accounts were changed to another name and sent us some sort of warning. Surely that's the least they could do. Like many large firms, their stance is,when things go wrong it must be the customer's fault.

Also WHY are they not warning clubcard holders that this could happen? Lots of people are completely oblivious to the problem.

Fraudsters can log into your account, steal your vouchers, change the account to show their name and download a temporary clubcard in their name (or a false name) to enable them to use the vouchers in any store of their choice. I cannot see how Tesco can deny ALL responsibility and do so little to prevent this happening.
  • It looks like Tesco has finally done something to actually put a stop to this. I noticed that when I logged into my Clubcard account and clicked "My Vouchers", instead of being presented with my voucher page to download them I was asked to enter three random digits from my Clubcard number in order to proceed to the vouchers page.

It also looks like printing of the temporary clubcards has also been disabled.

This is very good to see but it's a shame they've taken a YEAR to fix this issue..

its good to know they have finally done smething about it ,,esp with Christmas just around the corner and the New mailing /clubcard vouchers out next week or so
anyone affected last week or so might have to wait till February for vouchers to be re issued ..you can always phone or email head office and they might give them sooner or via a giftcard or Boost vouchers as i have heard this happening last quarter
  • Phone Tesco yesterday they were very helpful, she said they are working hard to try and stop this happening and they are aware it has happened to a lot of people.
They will conduct an investigation and will reimburse me in 2-3 weeks so hopefully this will all be sorted, hope everyone else gets theirs sorted.
