Tesco Clubcard fraud - online vouchers stolen
Comments
-
Today I checked my clubcard account to see that £52.50 WORTH OF VOUCHERS had been used yesterday on 300913. They were used in an EXTRA store miles and miles away from me. Tesco stated they must have had my clubcard, but we are still in possession of these.
I also have the Tesco vouchers that were sent to me by them.
Have reported it to action fraud and Tesco have said they will reinstate the vouchers but not till Nov 13.
Tesco do not seem to be taking this very seriously.
The security system on Tesco website must be poor!!0 -

they probably did have a clubcard if they printed one off !0 -

They wouldnt have been able to print a club card off in my case, because my club card is linked to my credit card and you cant use the function to print a temporary one off. So its proof these fraudsters are using the printed off coupons without a corresponding club card. I posted on another forum earlier on warning people to check their online accounts and straight away two or three people came back saying yes, their accounts have been hacked into.0 -

Just logged into my account today and found that £53 worth were used in Tesco Express stores down London way on 24/08/13. It seems they were printed off.
It is my understanding that all of us can print off our vouchers from our account, even if we receive hard copies in the post. Therefore all the thief needs is to gain access to the account and print, print, spend!
Why the hell didn't Tesco contact ALL customers who have Clubcard and shopping accounts with them as soon as they became aware of what was happening and told the to CHANGE THEIR PASSWORDS?!?!
Had they made customers aware of what was going on, we'd have these b******s on CCTV spending the vouchers, but as many of us having found out until 30 days later, it's likely that the CCTV evidence will have been overwritten.
Talk about drunken shennanigans in a brewery not being organised!0 -
well I went into my local store today and asked to speak to one of the managers. I explained to her what had happened and she wasnt aware of the scam. I was told that all the cashiers there never accept club card vouchers without a valid club card being presented at the same time. How wrong she was!
I went upstairs to the clothes section and mentioned to the two cashiers about what had happened to me, and one of them was the snootiest person going. She was horrible with me and said it isnt company policy and that her and the other cashier always accept club card vouchers WITHOUT a club card voucher. She said poor people say they have left their club card at home, so they always allow them to use the vouchers and she went mad at me and said that the only people to take printed off vouchers in to the store are the account holders. So I went down to customer services and they said they will have a word with them, because all the other cashiers know not to accept them without a club card.0 -

Yet another update on my registration. Every time I tried to register I got an 'unable to register at this time'. So I put in a really weak password aaa111, and it let me register. How does that work? I have now changed it to the one I was trying to use (deemed strong).0

I went into another local Tesco store in Chester yesterday and went to customer services to ask if they knew about the clubcard voucher fraud. The lady on there was so lovely but was very angry when I told her. She said two months ago a man went to the desk with a huge amount of printed off vouchers and tried to buy tesco gift cards with them. But she did her job right and checked the clubcard numbers on them and they didnt correspond to the one he had so she refused and called her manager over. Straight away the manager phoned tesco clubcard to let them know and asked if there was a fraud or scam going round. Tesco clubcard told the manager there was no fraud whatsoever and they didnt want to know.0
