Tesco Clubcard fraud - online vouchers stolen

I received a phone call from Tesco Fraud dept this week informing me that my account had been compromised and that my vouchers had been stolen!!! I told them that I already knew as I had already reported it to them!0

This has happened to me and Tesco want me to provide the voucher codes for the missing Vouchers. As they have all disappeared from my online account I can't see the codes. Also I generally don't worry too much about hanging on to the paper vouchers because they are accessible on line./ Tesco say all their vouchers are traceable and everyone affected will be refunded but I'm wondering whether they will be bothered to work out which ones were spent fraudulently. I know I perhaps should keep better records about which vouchers I have used but Tesco made it easy to do this online. The onus now seems to be on me to prove which vouchers have been spent fraudulently and this seems wrong to me. I am getting more and more frustrated with Tesco Customer services. This is an extract from an e-mail I received from them today "We have launched a thorough investigation into a small number of incidents" ---- seems more than a few to me!!0

Another tale of woe here too. Logged on today to check vouchers of some £100+ in anticipation of Christmas & found that they had all gone and the dates of birth for my children were wrong. They had all been spent in 2 different stores on one day in Leicestershire. I was stunned. I then googled which brought me to this thread. I have contacted Action Fraud, changed my password & will be phoning Customer Services tomorrow (closed today). I am so annoyed that so many of us have had to experience this and for Tesco to not have sent out a warning about account security.0

Last week was alerted by an e-mail from Tesco saying that my e-mail address had been changed (but not by me of course). I contacted them by phone straight away and followed advice to allow account to be closed. When I opened a new account and checked Clubcard points I found that £135.50 worth had been stolen (spent in 2 batches over previous couple of weeks). Phoned again and was promised that points would be reinstated at time of next statement. Security of home PC is good, I do not fall for Phishing e-mails etc. and when I questioned in this second phone call how it could happen "Tesco man" admitted that their site might have been hacked.

I went to use £40 of my Tesco vouchers the other day when I got to the checkout I was told I had already spent them, I knew this was not the case so i was given Tesco's helpline number they advised me they had been used in West bromwich 200 miles from where I lived & I have never been anywhere near there. They advised me my account had been hijacked by fraudsters and I should change my password and contact Action fraud which I have done. Tesco state they would refund the vouchers but not heard anything yet0

Have your 'points' jumped up yet? That's what will happen, the vouchers used by the wrong card will be added back to your current points, and come back out to you again in new vouchers in the next mailing - not long to go now, cut off date the 19th.
Either keep an eye on your points on your receipts and/or MCA.

I found £60 of mine had been used yesterday. I called them yesterday and they have reappeared today. The store was 200 miles from my house as well.0 -
My husband has just had £180 of vouchers taken from his account
Interestingly, we haven't redeemed vouchers for some months, and last Friday was the first time in ages. When I spoke to Tesco Customer Services, she said that the vouchers were redeemed in store last Friday. Coincidence?
well I went into my local store today and asked to speak to one of the managers. I explained to her what had happened and she wasnt aware of the scam. I was told that all the cashiers there never accept club card vouchers without a valid club card being presented at the same time. How wrong she was!
Our vouchers were redeemed in store without a clubcard being presented.i wonder if Tesco have actually updated their Staff / customer service advisors as i had a few as well that didn't seem to know anything about it ..
even when i contacted them via phone they were not very helpful at first
The lady I spoke to was lovely and very helpful, so as long as our vouchers are returned, it'll be full marks to Tesco.

Full marks to Tesco? Hardly, Clubcard accounts have been hacked for the last year and they've done sweet FA to stop it.
They just carry on, letting fraudsters acccess login details for accounts, print off vouchers, print off duplicate club cards, them blame the customers for not changing their password. To date not one person here has reported having any other account accessed, yet Tesco still insist it's their own fault for using the same password on other sites.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
