Mum hit by car at petrol station

  • I can only echo what the others have said. Get her checked out. I can appreciate how sorry the driver was, and I'm sure your mum doesn't want any trouble, but there may be more going on than you're aware of. Tell her she needs to pur YOUR mind at rest - she might do it if she thinks it's for you rather than herself. Best of luck, and I really hope she's right and there's nothing wrong.

Why is everyone assuming OPs mum is some ancient delicate thing?

She could be a 38 year old body builder.

Post 17 suggests the OP's mother may not be in full health.
Also, bodybuilder or not, a car up the !!!!! is probably not the healthiest of events for your internal body bits ;)

She is 67. She survived a parachute jump in 1978 when she broke her leg in 2 places. she has had her fair share of knocks. She is fine this morning. Just a small bruise. My sister who lives with her is keeping a eye on her.

What gets me is the guy behind the Esso till showing no concern. That is something I feel I would like to chase up.

From what you say your Mum doesn't want a fuss. I'd leave it if that's what she wants.

I hope you've been able to persuade your mum to see sense and report it OP. I'd be mad at the other driver, not only did he hit your mother but he manages to make her feel sorry for him!, or perhaps guilty - otherwise why would she not report?! He's a manipulative so-and-so, let the law deal with it.

If you've ever tried to get CCTV from a petrol station you'll know its hard to.
All the more reason for involving the police.

TBH it seems very strange if your mum was 'knocked up into the air' and she wasn't injured and an ambulance called.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Don't take her to the doctors as they will only refer her to the hospital as they won't have access to x-ray machines etc. at the surgery.
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

One of my friends was hit by a bus when he was younger, shrugged it off at the time, said "oh, I just bumped my elbow, it's fine".

If I had a quid now, for every time he's had that elbow operated on, every course of antibiotics he's had to take, I'd have...well, quite a few quid :)

I'm not suggesting that the book should be thrown at this guy, but his insurers should be notified of the accident, just in case your mum does need treatment further down the line.
