  • This is a fascinating thread! As a soon-to-be FTB I have learnt a lot. Thanks for taking the time to document your saga.

The overarching feeling I get from reading the whole thing is that the vendors sound like a bunch of cowboys, and may be hiding something, as others have suggested. Be extra, extra sure that you are very happy with the responses to the questions and the results of the surveys. Personally speaking I would pull out of this sale based on your experience described here... mostly due to the cageyness, but partly just to teach the vendors a lesson for being so bullying and rude. Stuff them! :rotfl:

Thanks for this thread, it's been invaluable reading!!
  • Thanks for your comments... I felt at times I was waffling along to myself but typing here did help my frustrations!

All enquires are answered to my satisfaction.. I have read through everything, it all seems OK.. I think its just the vendor delaying me.

I asked for a completion date of 4th March as I need a week between exchange and completion for the mortgage and a few days extra before exchange for my deposit to clear... also I wanted a Monday incase they decide not to move...

Hes come back with 11th March.. I am not happy so I have stated this and no later, It helps me a little actually as I may have a little more help to move, but he's not going to know that!

So still up in arms till exchange..

I was tempted to pull out now to spite them, but I've already arranged another tenant to move into my property when I leave, so don't want to delay them.

Well its not gone smoothly so far! My solicitors has told me to go around after 12 and make sure that the vendors have moved out because "we are not dealing with normal people"

    :D Im all excited!

Moving in the snow isn't what I expected though....
