Lunch today is just a ham sarnie ( though it's basil ham so posh ham lol ), a yoghurt, apple, banana and orange which means I've completed my first week where I haven't bought any lunches :j
Next week I'm away Monday ( no chance of me taking lunch as having to travel down on the Sunday night ) so will only have to do 4 daysNew House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

:jHurray - we're upon our first complete week of packed lunches. Well done everyone.:j
I'm unzipping my lunch bag live this morning as MrMRN packed it for me. Hmm... he must think I'd be hungry today! I've got left over beef stew, banana, satsuma, pot of pistacio nuts, yoghurt, hamper Christmas cake, mini cheddars and diet coke (mystery shopping item from yesterday so free). That should last me through till pizza mystery shop this evening!!!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

You flatter me MRN;) But yes, I do like my noodles - a bit of a guilty pleasure (and only 11p!!!).
Today I half cheated as didn't have any bread left that was any good for sarnies, so bought a tin of soup from Mr T (89p) on my way in and I've got 2 pieces of wholemeal bread that will need to be toasted. I also have some natural yoghurt, banana (LO from yesterday) and an apple.
Porridge eaten this morning - no bacon sandwiches bought by my colleagues this morning as the usual culprit is off sick! (Wasn't going to have one anyway.)
4.5/5 achieved this week as bought the tin of soup - will be making some over the weekend to bring next week.

I'd love to join this... except I can't plan when I'm working due to the non-plan-able nature of babies arriving into the world! :rotfl: if we are out on a day trip we take packed food with us, but I confess we usually fall back on the old staples of sandwiches with some fruit/salad/yogurts etc.
However, we do need to inject some life into manwife's packed lunches (sandwiches, crisps, soya yogurt), and I've been looking at food flasks so that he can take leftovers and hm soups etc into work. Does anyone have any recommendations? Am loathe to spend £15+ on one if it's actually not very good. There's no microwave, or even plain hot water at his work, and the canteen is a joke, plus he needs to be able to weigh his food for his carb intake/insulin calculations, so making in advance is really the only option.
He takes breakfast with him too (eats at about 9am) as if he eats before he leaves (6.30am) it causes blood sugar issues. He uses those cereal on the go pots from Morrison's - however, they're on their way out really (leaking and not keeping milk cold any more) so I suspect we may need to come up with a new breakfast solution soon too.Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Anna Glypta - I'm ashamed to say there's only half a bottle of coke and the banana left!
4/5 is still good LauraJo!
We all have guilty pleasures MCI - mine is polony out of the packet! Anyone else want to confess?!
As I type my colleague is tucking into a fast food burger!
You can get self-heating meals - I don't know how expensive they are but might be an option for some.
Cazzie - what about meals that are good cold but still filling and balanced diet. Like a rice salad, pasta salad, cous cous etc.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Well 4/5 achieved due to client meeting today. No lunch ordered in, so popped into a shop at 3pm and they were reducing their fresh sandwiches as they were close to closing time, so got a lovely lunch for £2. So way less than what I usually spend on lunch when I'm on the go!
Going for 5/5 next week, and have a meeting on Monday where lunch is provided, so an easy start to the weekMortgage debt : -£17,000

For me... music to my ears (or taste buds!)
For him... cousins cousins and rice salad go down like a lead balloon! Pasta salad is possible but probably not often. I'd have more luck with hot meals like chilli, curry etc, that he could have with a roll, or in pitas. He's a pita sometimes loltbh I consider it a good day if he only takes 1 bag of crisps with him and doesn't buy a bottle of pop.
