Welcome aboard to Deleted_User and Anna Glypta.
GG can we have the Chana dhal recipe please?
OS QS - yep I think save the smoked fish for home! Incidently I ate my blue cheese soup in the coffee room instead of my office yesterday!
Elantan - you can work it any way you want to and the same goes for anyone else on non-9-5 shifts it can be a packed breakfast/dinner/snacks too.
It does take a spot of organisation and the odd bit of batch cooking but it's worth it.
Hi Bufger - thanks for the easy lunch ideas. I'm looking forward to more of these as the thread develops.

Over the last few months I've really started to make an effort to bring in lunches as I was easily spending £3-£4 a day on mine  I think between me and hubby we were spending £25 - £40 a week on lunches. Now I do a combination of making extra for our evening meals and taking leftovers in or the plain but reliable sandwiches.
So todays packed lunch is roast beef sandwich, a yoghurt, 2 tangerines and an appleNew House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

I am a mfw although not officially but even without that I really struggle with the markups on food/drinks availabl eon the go compared to supermarket prices so the only lunch I have bought on in last good few years was from an Amex small shop (spend £5 and get £5 refunded to your card).
I am not a morning person so lunch making in the morning is a no-no, I used ot make it the night before but my latest approach is to make full use of the work fridge and each Monday bring in a loaf of bread and some othe bits and pieces and make my sandwich in the kitchen at work (there is even a microwave so it can be a hot filling if desired). It has two advantages, no snadwich making at home or soggy sandwiches and a slightly longer break from my desk at lunchtime.I think....0 -
Hi MRN
Just found the thread. I'm in too. I usually take lunch to work with a lapse every now and then. I used to allow myself one bought lunch a week (max £3) - but more often than not its once every 3-4 weeks now.
Today's lunch is quite boring - Tuna Mayo (with a bit of sweet chilli sauce) on Wholemeal Bread, raspberry vitality yoghurt, banana and apple.
Got to work late this morning so didn't have my porridge for breakfast (usually have it when I get to work) - but wasn't feeling very well anyway.
