I'm in! I'm not too bad, most days I bring in a tin of soup and some frozen bread (it defrosts by lunch time!)
The tin of beans idea is great for a change tho ... thanks bufger!
I need tips on how to manage this when working away tho....tomo I'm in London and often end up spending £7 on a sarni! I have a really heavy bag to lug up there so it needs to be light and preferably something that I can keep in the cupboard at home since I only go up there once a week or so.
All suggestions welcome!Mortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k

Todays lunch is:
Hummus on toast (2 pieces), apple and banana.
Managed to get to work on time today, so had my porridge with sultanas and dried cranberries.

I am in, I started my MFW quest last year..I was surprised when people said...that you can make a batch of Sandwiches all at once and freeze em.
So for a few months I did this, but then fell of the bandwagon. I need to get back on it in 2013. As buying lunch out is such a !!!!!!! rip off.MFW: Original December 2041 / Aim January 2028Current total overpayments: £0 Mortgage starts Dec 16It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. You can but it is risky - my colleague made a loaf of bread worth of chocolate spread sandwiches to freeze but didn't label them. He was unlucky 50% of the time in getting his wife's Marmite sandwiches!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

I'd suggest just lots of little snacks that will fit into any bags you are carrying. And perhaps a banana guard!!!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

Can I join in too? I've managed to bring a packed lunch 4/5 days this year so far. The day I missed was a choice between being late for my 1st meeting of the year or buying a roll at work so I opted for the roll.
In my defense it is 50p for a roll and butter/marg (a nice sundried tomato one if I get there early) so not too bad. I usually have a stick of snacky things in my locker too.

Or do what I do and eat it on the way there so you just have a lightweight, empty container to carry about
. Mind you, that's only when I get a 10.30 onwards train, not 7am :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I am sure my lunches are going to take a bit of a theme - minted pea and potato soup for me again today. Probably tomorrow as well and then I will have to make some more as I will have run out. Just as well I don't mind eating the same thing day after day4 February 2014 - Mortgage Free

Made a batch of asparagus soup for lunch tomorrow. Had to resort to tinned soup and oatcakes today as I was too tired last night to make fresh. But at least I avoided the sandwich shop.
Almost the first week in!! :jMortgage debt : -£17,000
