I'm dog sitting the work dogs today so my OH is coming up to meet me for lunch - I've taken a M&S meatballs and potato meal out of the freezer at home so going to pop it in the Aga in the boss's kitchen and we're going to have a Valentine's feast!!Maybe even a cheeky glass of bubbles (not the real deal but just as nice!)

When you're the only one eating it, it would be piggy to eat it all in one go! :rotfl: Saved two large chunks for Mum and MIL.
Enjoy your feast.

Been eating everything at work for the last two weeks .. food is free because it's a live-in job.
But I have been ill for the last two days and couldn't eat anyway. Sent home last night and been to the doctors today who gave me antibiotics which must be taken with food. I am struggling through a bowl of rice now but I think it's going to be money saving on the food front for the next few days.
On the plus side, lost 16 pounds over the last week, so at least it's good for the dietDFBX2016 #024

Hello
great thread.
just wondering if any of you know of any sites to look at for information on food storage etc.
I just want some info on how long i can keep certain foods in fridge or freezer, that type of thing.
i am a man by the way:rotfl:0 -

Well, I work by trial and error. If it's changed colour or grown a beard I don't eat it. Apart from that I will. Not very scientific I'm afraid, but I tend to see use by dates as an interesting conversation topic rather than something that relates to me.

Morning, I thinks am stalking GG round the diaries this morning.
Pbouk, when I first left home I was paranoid about checking the dates on everything. Now the only two things I am cautious with are shellfish and fish. I'm like GG, if it smells ok, looks ok, it gets used.
The best before date really is just that - I bought a huge bag of carrots for 12p a couple of weeks ago and finished them mid week and they were still fine.
