Wildly imaginative, but Lidl sells wild caught pacific salmon for £1.99 a can (roughly 400g). A heck of a lot cheaper than other shops and it makes a grand salmon mayo. Squeamish folk might want to avoid it if you can't remove skin and spines :rotfl:

This week is: brown rolls with salmon mayo and cucumber, tangerines and bananas, crisps and chicken cuppa soups.

I will toddle off and spreadsheet up an average cost because I'm just that cool ;)

£1.53? Packed lunches are feeling more expensive since I gave up sliced horse!

Hey, hope I can join you! I take my lunch to work most days - I do buy/go out for lunch about once a month which I now view as a bit of a treat! Whilst trying not to be too dull with lunch options, we do have a breadmaker so tend to eat quite a lot of bread! Today :

cheese and pickle sandwich (picke is home made though - by bro in law!)
    some cherry tomatoes
a yoghurt, an apple, two clementines and a lidl cereal bar (I always need an emergency back up food item just in case get starving in the afternoon!)

I drink tea/coffee/hot chocolate and water all free at work.

Making some smoked mackerel 'pate' this evening which I will have with some rye bread, tomatoes and olives tomorrow. I do make soup at home but havent yet brought any in for lunch but will try that this week as we have a fridge and microwave so I should make use of it really.

I work at home one day a week so I tend to have something hot then.... Hoping to get some inspiration from this thread!!

  • Another ham sandwich today, but today on granery bread.

Banana, fresh pineapple and oatcakes for snacks.

Colleague heated fish rissotto in the microwave yesterday and it still stinks - threw my breakfast away as it was tainted; so might have to buy another snack at lunchtime.
