I think my advise would be to email them I'm sure the contact detail will be on their website. Tell them whats happened by telephone so far. Give then 24 hrs to arrange collection and then then say it will be on the pavement for them to either collect for anyone elso who wants to take it. At least then it's in black and white. If you don't want it I'd phone the charity shops etc.Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0

I cant believe you have left it that long and rang all those numbers. I would of made one phone call and thats it.
Your evidently too nice for your own good. Id of lobbed it on ebay by now and told them I put it outside and it had been nicked.
They havent got a leg to stand on. You have gone out of your way to get their problem sorted and they would be nothing they could do if you did chuck it outside.
Have you checked how much its worth by the way? tap the code off the item into their website.0 -
I think you have been very tolerant and very helpul - going well beyond what you needed to do.
We once order four baskets from a mail order company and when the delivery driver turned up he brought..........
four wooden coffee tables.
When we said we didn't want them he told us he "had" to deliver them. So we were stuck with these things taking up space. Phoned the company who were less than interested, and basically did nothing. A week passed and I phoned and said "just to let you know I am leaving these coffee tables out on the street tomorrow morning at 0900" "You can pick them up from there".
A guy came that very evening to collect them.
I think it is time for you to say that you are doing the same.
You will be liable for nothing so go for it.
And well done for being a nice neighbour in the first placeWe all evolve - get on with it0 -
god bless i hope you come out on top of this0

Keep us updated Lee,
You are being so unbelievably patient. I would honestly say that you have given them more than enough time, if they don't call you back to arrange collection today or tomorrow, then definitely out the door.
Also, great idea about Freecycle! xGone ... or have I?0 -
Where are you?
I'll have it!
:j0 -
Ebay them cash on collection at least then you will have been compensated for the trouble you've gone to.0

ouch, i cant believe some of the responses i have viewed on here, they have really put a smile to my face.
UPDATE Three: I received a telephone call from Littlewoods customer services again. this was from a lady called Lisa, who spoke to me yesterday. After several calls back and fourth, she told me there is very little flexibility with the collection date (on monday - four days away), but when I told her thats no good for me, she has advsed me to put the goods in the front garden for collection. i asked her about liability, and she told me Littlewoods would accept liability for the product, I asked her about some compensation for the huge problems, and naturally she says "oh, I will need to get back to you on that one" that was an hour and half ago. I will call back again to see if there has been any movement on this. I would really like to give their customer service section some form of award for being so useless.
I dont know why they did not come to this conclusion at the first phone call, rather than the tenth one, mmmmmmmmmmmmm littlewoods should be called sillywoods or uselesswoodsTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
my favourite is when the delivery people including the postie dont even ring my door bell / knock. I am working away upstairs here the letterbox go with the post come down to pick it up and theres a "sorry you wernt home" card - I was bloody home you just didnt want to try!
And another thing the "next" courier leaves stuff in my blue bin - YUCK.are you sitting comfortably?, then I'll begin.....

I am proud to be dealing with my debt!
just one day at a time, dont take on ANY NEW debt.0 -
It's all well and good them telling you to put it in the garden but presumably these things are quite large and heavy. I would ask them if they would accept any responsibility if you were to injure yourself while removing the items from your property?;)
I would seriously think about writing an email to their complaints department thereby formally outlining your inconvenience and frustration to date, through no fault of your own. I would be amazed if they didn't offer you some from of compensation.0
