help with letter refusing goodwill gesture please

I only have a few days to officially accept the smaller offer I have been made from the Halifax 'without prejudice' telling them I will still be seeking to get a full refund depending on this court case. Anyway, I have lost the thread giving appropriate wording for such a letter.
I would appreciate a really quick response from someone letting me know the correct wording for such a letter. Thanks so much for your time0 -
theres a big post on here called something like response to goodwill gesture - plenty of templates in there for you0

Hiya all
I have today received a letter from barclaycard with a goodwill gesture payment for the difference between £20 and £12. I only want to accept this as part payment and carry on claiming for the rest, but I dont really know how to word a letter. Is there a sample letter anywhere which I can use?
Any help would be appreciated.0 -
Here you go, just replace the bold bits with your own details.

LETTER BEFORE ACTION
DATE
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your recent letter dated DATE. I have attached a copy for your reference.
I am afraid I must decline your offer to reduce the penalty charges levied on my account to £12 and the credit of £XXX to my account.
In your letter you say that you do not agree with my legal analysis in regards to the penalty charges you have levied from my account, yet you have given no reason as to why. I have explained clearly the views of both myself and the law regarding penalty charges. Once again I invite you to show me that the charges imposed on my account are a true reflection of your costs. I require a detailed breakdown of what actions are necessary to make up such costs & how you arrive at the sum charged.
I will not accept any goodwill payment that is less than the full amount requested.
To make my position clear, I refuse to accept £XXX as settlement in any way in relation to my request. I will continue to pursue the full amount of £XXX as originally requested through a court if necessary. If you would like to pay the outstanding amount of £XXX, within the next 7 days, I will consider the matter closed.
Should you choose to ignore or refuse this final request, I ask you not to credit my account with £XXX or any other amount, and to withdraw it if you have already done so. I will then take the matter to a county court without further notice where the legalities can be properly examined and a just resolution can be obtained.
Yours sincerely0 -

Thank you for your letter received dated INSERT DATE. I have attached a copy for your reference.
While you state in your letter that you believe the charges levied are fair, I contend that I do not believe these charges reflect the true cost to Egg.
The charges, as stated in my schedule provided to you, total £XX plus, as I believe I have been unlawfully deprived of the money, I have calculated £XX interest at the statutory rate.
I therefore ask that you repay me the full amount of £XX. I have, again, attached a full schedule of the charges and interest with this document.
You have stated in you letter that it is your intention to calculate what you believe as fair charges and offset them against my claim and you have advised me that you are willing to offer me £XX in settlement. This is not at my request and not what I have claimed. I do not accept these as fair charges. I noted your comments regarding the reduction of fees, but under the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999, charges must reflect administration costs and cannot be punitive. I believe that the charges you have applied to my account have been unreasonable and punitive.
I cannot, therefore, accept the sum of £XX as full and final settlement of my claim for £XX referred to in my letter dated INSERT DATE.
I look forward to receiving full payment of £XX within 7 days. Failure to agree this will result in me instigating Court action through which I will be requesting that all charges be refunded in full plus statutory interest plus costs.
Yours faithfully,
