Linda, eat a frog is do a job you have been putting off! There used to be a link about it that explains it better, something to do with forcing yourself to do unpalatable tasks.

I can's find the link either, but here's a few words from Google :D
An old saying is that "If the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that that is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long!" Your "FROG" is the one you are most likely to procrastinate on if you don't do something about it now! It is also the one task that can have the greatest positive impact on your life and results at the moment.

 have a cool yule

Tots already separated once  told them I will ring santa if they don't belt up! All very quiet now.

Wm on, with DS baby tigers and DD security blankie in. Will pop them in the airing cupboard so they are dry for tonight.

Has anybody made their own croquettes? I have leftover mash and I thought I could mix in chopped leftover bacon and some cheese. I have some breadcrumbs, is it as simple as that? Do I need to dip in egg before I crumb them? Might go g00gle a recipe. Ooh chicken and bacon ones, mmm.

Right, I'll go check on my list...

ETA: ugh, ironing today :( and the recipes I've seen say to mix egg with the filling, as well as dip before crumbling. Will let you know how I get on... ;)

Bossy, think you need to dip in egg. Not you, the croquettes.

Just off for walkies as it has stopped raining, yay.

Another job, need to spend HHI today including Xmas napkins.

    Catch you later.

we're all still here then? :rotfl:

I feel much better this morning - Meadowhall was bad but apparently it had been worse the day befire. It was DS's christmas shopping. Just a list of WHO to buy for and no clue what.

    Well!

In EVERY shop I asked if they did Student Discount as he won't - so 10% or 5% cheaper shopping for him in most places! He, he claimed, found it embarrassing. Well as far as I'm concerned beggars can't be choosers. Money is a hard-won commodity here; both the kids get Bursaries - and DS has just got a free prescription etc chitty - in fact I am still chasing a refund for the glasses I forked out for many months ago. So discounts he will have.

Off to school for the Carol Concert shortly - I happily do these freebies as long as I am considered for supply;)

I MUST marzipan the cake today!

I'm still feeling very bunged up. I am trying to pick up everything from the floor and my head is spinning. DH has gone to Ikea on his own, it's all about the ikea breakfast he tells me.

DS1 came back late last night and apologised. We've warned him to alter his ways and to live on the same time zone as the rest if the family. He is in bed. He wanted to go with DH last night but is going find he has missed out.

I hope Lamewolf and Mr Lamewolf enjoy their Yule celebrations.

I'm going to do some HHI. I think the steam will help!

I have taken a day holiday from work today as still so much to do. WM x2 so far and TD x1. Remembered to water the Christmas tree. Fed and watered the dog. Written a list of things still to do (huge ). All the stuff that is normally in the hall when it is offloaded from DS's school bag appears to be spread around his room.
I have carefully folded the load I have just rescued from the TD and so only 2 shirts to iron from the first load :D
Coffee break and 10 minutes with Martin, then to town with DD for a few more bits and to see what M&S can help me out with for my Christmas dinner (pigs in blankets, cranberry and bread sauce and an enormous quantity of stilton). Then back to the list!
