Macpep if you use lard for your pastry, don't forget to warn any vegetarians before they partake.;)

Actually folks, same applies for roast potatoes - I've been made quite ill before, through eating roasties I didn't know had been cooked in goose fat._pale_

Thank you LW, didn't know it was bad for vegetarians, I don't know any but thank you anyway x
Hello everyone  Just got back from tea and cake with friends from work - I had the most enormous slice of chocolate orange cake, and managed to finish the lot :o No supper for me tonight :)

I didn't want to say, but as you ask ;) give up with the Trex and Cookeen and just use lard - far superior pastry IMHO :D

Thank you, knew you would know as you are a masterbaker :D
I best get started on them then x

  • Revolving Door - I've just had to take some lino tiles up in the Kitchen and they left sticky residue, also had spray glue residue on there too - don't ask! Anyway - I used Br!llo Pads, not sure how that would affect the wood of your desk but if its not that great it may be worth a go - had to use plenty of elbow grease but the stuff came off lovely
    Helen

Thanks! I will try that now.xx:)

What is it tonight with badly behaved boys? Ds1 has used unspeakable language, broken DS2's gcse coursework memory stick. That was followed by a fight. I have ejected him out of the house and told him to return when he apologises. I will have a long wait.

Wrapped more presents! They are hidden everywhere I keep finding unwrapped stashes.

Flying has consisted of cleaning out the fridge and processing washing.

    Yay!!

Have now broken up from school so Christmas can officially start!!

Yep, me too. Got confused going into Boots for a few bits - had £4.74 on Advantage card so separated out items to that value; put them through till which gave me a 10% off voucher. Thanks I said, can I use that on the rest of my stuff? Yep. Put that through, till worked out various 2 for 1, bogof, 10% etc. Assistant said great, now you've got £5.76 on your card. Huh? I'm sure it makes sense to the till........

Anyway, dinner on then I'll get flying. Tonight's list:
    - last few e-cards
    - final check of presents i.e. who or what have we forgotten?
    - blitz on office so fit to be a spare bedroom for BIL
    - final plan of action for tomorrow (after gym)

Hope all sickies feeling a bit better; I'm still a bit snuffly and could do with an early night (no chance) but I do feel better than yesterday. All I really need is another week before Christmas......

Calmer now, some flying done. DS3 apologised about 10 times, cried and I think understands the error of his ways. He said he feels guilty. Good luck with your DS1 Mumto5 - it is easier when they are 10!

Dinner for DS2 and I next whilst DS3 is in the bath. Then I'll finish the bathroom cleaning.

DD waited in for me today whilst I was out for the chimney sweep so chimnet lovely and clean for Christmas. Can I count that as flying lol. Laid out rugs across the lounge and not a trace of mess or soot. He even hoovered the hearth - very impressed. Dailies done and I'm up to Wednesdays list. Everything is wrapped now and last of stuff to go to DDs I will take tomorrow.

Went shopping with DD and hopefully we have everything. Just fresh stuff to get on Monday. There will be 6 of us. DD, grandson, DDs ex in laws and ex MIL brother and me.

Washed the cats blanket so that's done and should be nearly dry. Haircut today so that's of my list.

    Sticks,spoons and hugs where needed.

It depends on their reasons for being vegetarian, and how strict they are about it; anything with lard in upsets my stomach badly. I believe you can get a veggie "lard" equivalent, just as you can get veggie suet, but I assume PenPen is advocating "proper" lard. Tbh, I always make my pastry with butter - it agrees with my tum, and Mr LW likes it.;)

DS3 has caused a slight fire with a tissue and the advent candle. There are burn marks on the carpet. Fortunately he screamed for me and has just burnt the tip of one finger. It really is not a good day for him.

Kitchen door is leaking everytime it rains
Scissors I purchased from ebay for my mother for Christmas have finally arrived. No packaging, not new as described.

Edgy about any more bad things this evening now.
