  • DD1 is at UCS in Ipswich. She has spent 2 years at Athena Hall, but now has her own flat. She is staying on next year, but not sure where she is going to live

GI[/B, ]I would worry my head off if either DD1 or DD2 were in a flat of their own, but I suppose after having two years in halls I might feel differently:)

Well, DD1 managed to get across the Underground very quickly, and on to an earlier train so she was ringing the doorbell at 22.45 instead of 23.45 last night :j:j:j which was just aswell as DS had refused to have his nap all day waiting for her to come, and had finally agreed to "settle" 15 minutes before she came in.....until the doorbell went :eek::eek: cue a very excitable DS, and a very emotional DD1......once DS was reassured DD1 was going to sleep in her room and not disappear overnight, only then was he happy to come back to my room and actually quit.

Despite being told to "travel light" DD1 brought a massive hold all back to wash - I was reassured that it was "clean" washing but she just wanted to wash it in the family machine to make "sure" - this is one of her Dad's foibles, she even brought her own washing liquids back with her :o:o:o bit upset that she thought I would stretch to giving her some of my washing powder - this might be the Skint Ritz/Pitz but I am not going to penny pinch over cleaning :rotfl:

Still, DD1 was great....she didn't expect me to do it, she emptied TD and carried both clean baskets of washing upstairs at stupid o clock.....fed WM and TD and got all of her own stuff back in her wardrobe before I surfaced this morning :j:j:j

That said, I made her breakfast, which she slept through, and had to poke her with a cattle prod when her lunch started to go cold.

Spoon jar was a bit empty today, so lunches and dinners were cooked together, to be re-heated when ready.....

DD3 came in at 12.30, and there was no nursery for DS today. Got an extra spoon from unexpected source, the EX turned up for DD3 and DS and volunteered to take me to Mr T to get fresh veggies and bread in :eek::eek:

I was reluctant to go, but he agreed to push trolley and pick up the heavy items like potatoes (season of goodwill????? or glad to survive "end of the world" I am not sure :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

As I can see I am going downhill fast, there are some more cheats going on the holiday menu - no homemade cranberry sauce this year - bought jar instead, foregoing red cabbage and apple, veggie pigs in pigless blankets, bought two packets of ready done meaty pigs in blankets and a big tub of B!sto

All my veggies are bbe 27th, so whatever doesn't get peeled and consumed on 25th will go with the Dr P£pper Gammon on the 27th when DD1 and DD2 friends come to visit for the day......they are late teens/early twenties boys, not critics for Masterchef......I think as long as they get roasties, gammon and gravy it will be fine :p

Got my prescription just before my pharmacy closed:eek::eek::eek: which was a close shave as the way I am pumping the insulin at the moment, I only had enough to get to Saturday night , but DS can be picked up tomorrow as they are open Saturday, so I have enough of his prescription milk to run over the holiday.

Been resting up since then, DD1 and DD3 put shopping away, and nuked my dinner, DD3 has done DW....DD2 has returned home to nuke her veggie dinner after playing Florence Nightingale to one of her college friends who managed to get herself concussed last night.....DD1 has gone out with her old cronies and has taken a set of keys (clue.....don't wait up :p) DS is whacked out after jumping around with his Dad all afternoon, but got broken hearted when DD1 was getting ready to go out as he thought she was going back to Uni already :(:(:(

So having a lurk, catching up on my fb and now stalking a few deceased relatives to add to my family tree as my "me time" while necking back G@viscon in time to flybaby tripping the light fantastic on my digestive system ;)

Hoping tomorrow to be functioning with some flying capacity as my friends partner is going to get tiling done in downstairs loo some time from 9.30 onwards , and I need to push hoover and mop round on the quick

Will try and pop in tomorrow with a bit of proper flying to report

    Skint Breeder over and out!
The cold never bothered me anyway

Well I've just remade the bed so I'm getting ready to get in it. AF has arrived today just in time for Christmas so that's nice! Tomorrow will be busy, busy , busy so lots of HHCs.

I have done the bulk of the shopping today, but haven't had the energy to put it all away. DH has been out stewarding for a concert this evening but I decided to stop at home - I am still desperately tired and think it must be the start of a migraine. On top of that, some urgent written work arrived from my colleague which I have had to try to concentrate on, but I am giving up now and going to bed very soon, hoping I will feel better in the morning: we've got 5 trainloads of children to get the right badges for, on the Santa Specials.

Hope LW and MrLW have had a lovely day. Hooray for lengthening days from now on!!!

(((Hugs))) and spoons to all who need them.

Grocery order updated yet again to discover few items are unavailable so will have to pop out tomorrow.

Today's meeting went well if not exhausting.

Had to get cross with DS1 to get him to dry pots.

I have just cleaned out the freezer and listed contents.
I have a rare Saturday off tomorrow not sure where we are going to go. All presents wrapped. Good friend popping in on Sunday on way up the motorway.

dancemum my update ability expired a. Hour ago so what doesn't arrive tomorrow afternoon we will have to do without.

bossymoo Little ones get very tired this time of year. It's really challenging behaviour. You reacted much better than I would have done so don't feel any guilt. I live your gingerbread house pic by the way!

I have lots of food to prepare as I am still full of cold and feeling awful I'm getting behind with my military plan. I'm praying I feel better in the morning for our trip to JL for breakfast with FC. DH has told me to stay home. I know DS3 is wavering this year so it will probably be his last 'believing'. He will be 9 in April. He and DD2 are so close the bubble will burst for both of them. I feel very sad thinking about the possible loss of childhood awe and wonder.

I summoned enough GUAG to Hoover downstairs hard floors. The spare fan belts we ordered on Sunday from Dyson have not arrived.

Other than that I've emptied the bins (why does nobody else empty them). There were milk cartons sitting on top of the bin. Again it's the unbelievable laziness of teenagers to blame.

DH went missing for 2 hours this lunchtime so I can safely assume he's got my Christmas gift 3 days early this year. I know he went to ikea so it could be interesting and not wanted/appreciated.

How many hints to you give your OH's ladies? I know my DH is deaf in one ear but surely he can't get it that wrong???. I refuse to become someone who buys her own gift.

My sister is allergic to the AB's they have given her for her pneumonia. She still hasn't responded to my many attempts to contact her. My mother is run ragged looking after her.
I wish she would look after me :(

BTW it's 2 years tonight since I slipped down the stairs and smashed my right hand to smithereens. Tonight it is swollen and my fingers are crossing so I don't think that chapter of my life is over yet.

    Morning All

Mumto5 - you need to delegate!

I need some stockings - ours weren't in the Christmas boxes, I've gota feeling they're just in a carrier bag as they went up late. However because DH has now put all the wrapped presents up there he says there's no chance of finding them now. There were some in Poundland that you put your own photo in which weren't too bad so I might go for them rather than pay out loads of money when they must be up the loft somewhere.

I've had to put the WM back on as the clothes had bits of white powder on them so I have no idea what that was.

I also need to get some batteries.

Not sure when I'm going to do my food shopping - I normally go early one morning but today is the only day they're going to be open early because of Sunday opening. I haven't completely decided what we're having yet anyway - I'll decide when I'm shopping. It's just pasta and a buffet for Christmas eve as that's the only time I cook.

    Okay enough rambling.

    Have a good day all

    Hugs

I'll join you. I need to get off PC and start on today's plans. I have done all applicable jobs on the lists this week and would like to take this opportunity to thank all you flyladies for your support since I joined this thread about a year ago. Jazees joint is now (nearly) always clean and tidy and I am much less stressed, much happier for it.

Ionafan, I hope you're feeling better today.

My list (DH is doing last of big Xmas food shop):

    Wash up
    Pop to baker
    Set TV recordings
    Make peppermint creams
    Make Hobnobs
    Make mince pies
    Make fudge
Walk dogs if it stops raining

    So far, I've hoovered downstairs.

    Have a good day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.

Thanks, Jazee. I am not feeling quite as grotty as I did last night and intend to brave the rain to be one of Santa's helpers and hopefully make some people smile.

    Since 5.30 am I have
    - made and drunk a cup of tea
    - made the mincemeat - kitchen smells nicely of brandy and spices!!!
    - emptied and refilled DW
    - put away the remaining shopping from yesterday
    - checked my bank account - not looking too bad :)
    - folded washing, carried it upstairs and put it away
    - drunk another cup of tea made by DH :)
    - remade the guest bed with help (allegedly!) from DH
    - put away spare duvet and pillow from DGS2's bed (which is a trundle type and fits under DGS1's bed, but there isn't enough room to leave the duvet on it - not the way I would have designed it! - so we have the bottom half of a single wardrobe piled up with spare bedding including our summer quilt - where we will put it all if we move to a smaller house is anybody's guess!) and moved DH's 3-foot high St Bernard soft toy Barnaby (fond memories of an old four-footed friend) back from the guest room into the boys' room so that he won't frighten our overnight visitors
    - started final menu plan, since I managed to get a nice shoulder of venison at the farm shop yesterday (tastier and cheaper than a turkey crown! and it will cook in the SC)
    - persuaded DH to stop playing on his computer and have his shower
    - started the porridge for breakfast

Still lots on my list, but it's a good start to the day.

Mumto5, we are all here for you whenever you need to rant. Wish we were closer to give you a real (((hug))) too.

    Breakfast........
