    Hello all

made HM soup today for tea - very late by the time we ate and have run stuff through WM, TD and DW (and OH! how LOVELY to have my TD in the kitchen and to have a DW at all!)

Been to the paid stuff for (possibly) the last time this year and have come home laden with chocs and wine.

Am a little cross with the boss AKA Mr. Lewis as my class have made personalised wordle calendars - the wordles have been trimmed, mounted on complimentary-coloured card (ooh get me being all alliterative) laminated and have ribbon and tags attached. And blow me if he doesn't recommend it as a festive fiver gift! Giving away ALL my secrets. I thought of it BEFORE I got the email! Still, chances are that none of the parents are MSE-ers ;) They look really, really good; very professional and I would be thrilled to hang one in my home! Did mean I was home late as the printer went kaput on me yesterday and we still had a third of the class to do. The repair man was much amused by the thrilled teacher awaiting his arrival keenly this morning! He came, he saw, he fixed it and we finished!

Cat litter tray cleaned. House, otherwise is a pit. Whether I will make it on here tomorrow I don't know as I'm on standby as one of my colleagues is feeling crook.

Oh my goodness. DS has brought pots downstairs without being asked.

    *THUD*

Obviously I have hit the floor in shock. :rotfl:

My waters went with DS on exactly due date. But he didn't arrive till next day. DD was 5 days late, then all of a sudden she was there, very little warning. My waters never went with her, she came out in the membranes and mw had to burst it... Kids, eh? You still can't second-guess them even after they are born :D

Skinty, hope your bubba stays put until a time more convenient for you ;)

Ooh! ETA I only popped on here to say I'VE FINISHED WORK :T

Mrs Mp, when DS was born he came on Bonfire Night spent two weeks in SCBU, had two weeks at home, then was back in hospital with Septacaemia for two weeks on the run up to Xmas. and was allowed home for a few hours on Christmas Day before he had to be back for 4 o'clock that day and was discharged on 27th about 4 hours before a houseful of guests were due to arrive!...there is a funny air in the hospital at Christmas time,

DD3 was due 28th Dec 1999, and I was convinced she was going to turn up on Millennium Eve......I spent the whole night sitting on my MIL sofa on plastic bags covered with towels terrified my waters were going to break - and she managed to stay put til 9th of Jan

second guessing kids???? no, its taken me a long time to realise all bets are off when it comes to kids

Bossy, I would much prefer that flybaby stays SAFELY put after the holiday period when everyone is back to business as usual and staff christmas hangovers are a distant memory. Although she is probably about 5 and half pounds now, the weight is in the wrong places, and she would almost certainly be in SCBU for a good few weeks, so every day I can keep her brewing is hopefully one more day without ventilators, drip lines and technology.

Going to get DD2 Uni day sorted tomorrow, then when I am back going to ring my diabetic midwife again to see if expressing milk now will help pull my blood back in line as I seem to be pumping more and more insulin in and its not doing anything :(

Just Friday lunchtime to get to, then everyone is staying put til the new year:D
The cold never bothered me anyway

Hmm. Just collected tots from nursery. DS was fast asleep on one of the ladies' knee! She called at 4 as he had a temp, gave him some meds then apparently he just climbed onto her lap and nodded off. He'd been there an hour :D she said her bum was numb. He seems fine now, stuffing his face and copying "tree fu Tom"

But, the office lady has done me a letter on headed paper with a monthly fee breakdown for me :A so just need to print the covering letter and send of my bits and bobs. Not so much of a hassle as I thought...

Cool - one less thing to think about at this busy time :T

I am shattered after 2 days with DGS1 (4½) and DGS2 (2¾) - but it was definitely well worth all the effort! They are happy and so are we. And yesterday evening, while my DH was out at a wargamers' Xmas party, I got to just sit and chat to DD over a simple but tasty meal followed by a glass of cherry brandy (only a small one - it's Croatian and very potent!), and in the middle of our relaxing evening my DS2 rang us :)

The DGSs made me laugh when they arrived: the first thing they wanted to do was to check that I had put their school photos up as I promised, one on the landing and one in the room where they were going to sleep. Fortunately I had! :rotfl:

There are now 3 extra lots of bedding to wash, but that's a very small price to pay for having some of my family here. It's only the second time any of them have visited in the 3 years we've lived in this house - usually we go to them, as my two DSs live close together (and not far from my exH), so it is much easier for us and my DD and her family to go to them (and she can visit her father too) than for all of them to come to us, IYSWIM.

DGS2 has an obsession with Blut@ck, so I couldn't stick the cards up on the banisters before they came, or he would have had them off again in no time  That will be another job for tomorrow.

    Christmas has officially begun :D

    :xmassmile:rudolf::xmastree::xmassign:

I can feel the love just oozing out of your pores ionafan - those DGC's are very lucky to have you :A

I don't know where today went, or this list - whoosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got up at stupid o'clock, did a bit of flying, worked all day and wrapped all night and having had 2 glasses of wine, I feel completely sedated. Off to bed now to get recharged for more paid stuff tomorrow and Friday. Looks like my list is on a backburner until Saturday morning!

Night night all - no more flying for me today - this plane is parking itself firmly in the hanger!

Oh well just today and tomorrow to do then I can [STRIKE]relax[/STRIKE] run around manically getting everything ready for Christmas eve when all my family come for tea. Carol service today at the church with school so that will take up most of today. I still haven't wrapped my pass the parcel up for tonight so I need to do that at some point or we won't be playing it!

Morning! DS still in bed, DD has been up and down all night and now sat in the doorway "reading" :D keep hearing "once upon a time, bla bla bla, the end" :rotfl:
Sounds wet and windy out there, yuk. Still, our plan is for a quiet day. DS wanted to set up his train track, and I want to check over all the spare bedding and get some aired off. Might wash the LR throws too. It's laundry catch up day! I even got some stuff out of the freezer for lunch!

Need to buy some jelly... And a loo seat.

  • Good morning  Thanks for today's list, Dusty :A
DD2 hasn't had a call about the job :( They said that if she hasn't heard by Wednesday that hadn't got the job. I think that is a cop out, and they should just be honest at the time if they didn't need her.

I agree - it's difficult enough for young people in the current job market - employers should have the decency to let people know one way or the other

DH and DS have their final days before Christmas at work/college today, so I need to crack on and get most of my jobs finished today.

  • GI - hugs and for your DD too, another job will come along for her and it'll be one where they love her instantly and there will be no need for her to work for free to prove herself, tomorrow all your Xmas plans will fall into place :]

Another evening of not being well - Doc tomorrow if I wake up with another headache!
DD is going down with a throat bug and DS is just plain k-nackered. DH has no Xmas spirit yet, he'll get some or he'll get a kick on the bum!

Ironing and washing up to date, tomorrow I'll do as much as I can from the lists

    Helen

Your house sounds like mine at the moment - constant sniffling/sore throats/feeling cream crackered...

I had to cover the playground at work yesterday - I spent an hour sorting out 'disputes' and 'upsets' for kids who are obviously exhausted. Half of them were too tired to explain properly what the problem was......

however judging by the constant rain outside - today will be 'indoor play' - which we do not have sufficient supervisors to cover properly..... Oh Joy!;););)

Plan for today is more shopping - I need more ideas for DD2 - I'm stuck at the moment....

    Good Morning lovelies

First day of my hols so I am back with you all. Have no idea where the time has gone as I havent been 'in' for about 10 days. Most of the present shopping has been done just have to find something for my brother who I am seriously stuck for (single, aged 49, own bungalow but spends most of his waking hours in his lorry so any ideas appreciated). DH would love a new phone but only upgraded about 3 months ago so thinking I can upgrade give him the new one and I can have his (well we arent supposed to be doing presents as ours to each other is our Jan hol) and I need to get a rucksack and mess tins for DD. Oh and the food shop needs to be done but we're not having masses over, just mum and dad come in the morning then its just the 4 of us and the meat delivery is due Friday so not much required.

Need to get the decs out of the attic (tree was finally put up 2 nights ago but not decorated as every time anyone is supposed to take part in doing it they disappear :( )

Right I better go chase DD for school and DS for work experience (he's doing really well, so much so that the head of the HR dept said yesterday he was a credit to me :D proud mummy moment)

Will sort out what I have done off the list this week and get dressed once the essentials have been through the bathroom.

    Back later

Oh and Lets be careful out there ........
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
