Wrapping done! Well, nearly ;) I have one little cuddly in the post for DS and some photos winging their way to us to go in frames, plus a bottle of home made flavoured vodka which is in the fridge. But all the kiddies things are done and neatly stacked in spare room cupboard. Have propped some cardboard in front of them to disguise :D

Home made mulligatawny decluttered, DW loaded, dry washing put away. Playroom sorted and freezer tetris won! Noticed when kiddies were in bath that loo seat hinge is broken, so might pop out to wilco for a new one tomorrow. Stepdad has sorted the tyres on the little ones balance bikes, so we are all good to go here! Have even done party bags for MIL birthday (lol, this is DS planning, he said she's got to have party bags).

Just need to make the gingerbread house. Any tips? My first attempt was awful, the biscuit was all broken and the icing cement didn't set. My thought this time was to use melted chocolate to hold it together? Some websites say use melted sugar  but I'm bound to burn myself...

BB - Wow what an icon for your DS to get an award from, is she local to you? How exciting.

I don't know where the connection is, I'm assuming it's sports related -someone at the school knows someone who knows someone who knows her? I don't think she lives in Kent but I could be wrong. Anyway it was a nice surprise and I'm glad I heard her speak. LOL just looked on wikipedia which states she is 5'2" :rotfl:

  • Good evening :D

DD1 made biscuits with the girls this morning, then we went into town with Miss T. I think I accomplished what I set out to do :)

I have made a food shopping list, but I may have to change it. TBH I am a little p*$$ed off :( I asked DH to speak to his mum about what we were doing Christmas, which he did - in October. Then again, in November. However, last Saturday she said that we need to have a talk about what's happening at Christmas!! She always used to do Christmas, until about 10 years ago. The last few years she has said about doing it again. But she is only on a pension, and is 82 so it is a lot of work (there are 11 of us, including BIL, SIL etc). Dh is worried about her forgetting things, but instead of suggesting seeing a doctor (her brother has althzeimers) he pu$$yfoots around her and doesn't want to upset her. Anyway, today she has told him that she thinks that BIL, SIL & neice & nephew are staying at home this Christmas!! This is the first we have heard of it. I don't have a problem with that - but thought it might have been nice for them to let us know  Or it could be that MIL has confused them, or got it completely wrong! So, I don't know who is coming to dinner now. It could just be us  And all because people are faffing about about :mad: Sorry - rant over. I know I sound a bit heartless, but I get so frustrated with the way they deal with it (or not, as the case may be!)

Anyway - hopefully it will be sorted tomorrow. If they aren't coming, I could have asked my mum & step dad (he can't cope with lots of people, esp the children)

DD2 hasn't had a call about the job :( They said that if she hasn't heard by Wednesday that hadn't got the job. I think that is a cop out, and they should just be honest at the time if they didn't need her. Still, they managed to get a shift out of her for free so why should they worry!

I sound sound like a right old moany minnie tonight! Sorry :o

I should have wrapped some presents tonight. DD1 is going tomorrow, and she is supposed to be taking her stocking with her to open Christmas morning! I will have to do it before she goes.

I am going to bed now. Hugs, sticks and spoons to those that need them.

Oh - flying wise, I washed up (several times), hoovered through downstairs & put some washing on :p Night night all x

I didn't get any flying done yesterday due to generally feeling very lazy. However, today I have done some of the lists in my adapted form, tackling the kitchen and upstairs:

    Emptied bins
    Swept kitchen floor
    Cleaned microwave
    Hoovered all upstairs
    Ironed two sets bedsheets
    Changed two beds
    Washed up
    Cleaned kitchen sink

Also - done my nails! :D

Work tomorrow and then listy time in the evening. I haven't yet wrapped any of my christmas presents so I am resigned to having to wrap over the weekend :o
  • GI - hugs and for your DD too, another job will come along for her and it'll be one where they love her instantly and there will be no need for her to work for free to prove herself, tomorrow all your Xmas plans will fall into place :]

Another evening of not being well - Doc tomorrow if I wake up with another headache!
DD is going down with a throat bug and DS is just plain k-nackered. DH has no Xmas spirit yet, he'll get some or he'll get a kick on the bum!

Ironing and washing up to date, tomorrow I'll do as much as I can from the lists
