have just phoned the FO and was told because of this court thing it could take anything up to 2 years for them to settle depending the outcome.
  • I have just received a letter back from the FO regarding my claim for credit card charges back from the halifax and they have re- claimed all my charges back for me! :j I cant thank them, Martin and this website enough for the help I've received.

The whole process has taken about 3 months. I didnt have the money to claim via MCOL so decided to go down the FO route. They have been really helpful and kept me informed about the whole process.

I have just written a thank you letter to them as i really appreciate what they do for people free of charge.:T

Just got to wait and see about my other claims now but i really am over the moon with my outcome.

So all you people that are claiming dont give up just be patient and persistant and it will go along way.

  • Can we still take our cases to the ombudsman instead of the Courts?

    Thanks in advance

  • Yes you can - good luck!
  • Thanks mate!!
  • Looking on the ombudsman site it says no more cases being taken. What next,? Lloyds TSB have sent final desision saying no, my husband is self employed so classed as business which is why they say no. Who can give advice and is best to get a representative from maybe a legal firm?Im really worried about going to court cos cant afford to loose but Lloyds charges are in excess of £4000.Help.

Don't listen to them, it makes no difference if it is a business or personal account. I successfully caimed on both from the Bank of Scotland.( Both claims were done in the same way, using the same template letters ) They too gave me a final decision, saying they had decided not to pay out on business accounts. Ha Ha!! My claims went to the FOS and were completed just before the test case was announced. As Lloyds are one of the banks involved in the test case, I don't think there is much you can do at the moment, except sit back and wait for the outcome of it. I wouldn't bother with a representative or legal firm, this is when it starts costing money. I did it on my own, all it took was the cost of a few special delivery letters and a long wait, which was worth it in the end.
  • Thanks for that much apprciated, so do i take it that i can wait till after the test case? asthe letter from Llyods says I only have 6 months?
  • Is it for bank charges or credit card charges or both?? that the ombudsman are taking no more cases on??
