As I understand your post the FO haven't started a formal complaint as yet for you but they are now? I'm assuming this was just an initial letter from the FO and now they will start your complaint in earnest.0

Recent success story with the Nationwide using the FO...

Went through the standard process.....contcated FO, filled out form, they sent me one back saying they were waiting for reply from NW.......offer sent from NW offering £1500.....now at this point, they usually offer the entire amount.....but mine is for £6200...so they were quite a bit short......now Im in the situation of rejecting this (which I have seen noone else in the position of) and giving reasons why, in the hope that FO will contcat NW saying I have rejected offer and they are goig to start formal proceedings (which has never happened with bank charges) so hopefully they will return with a full refund offer........or not...

Please help. My mum has had the standard letter from the Clydesdale stating the T&C's of her account and she can whistle for her £1600.00. Please can you advise what we do next.
She she be sending the second letter to them now?
By the sounds of it they will still not pay up and I was wondering what the best way forward is. I have read a lot on the FO, but how do I go about contacting them and at what stage? It sounds better than having to go through the small claims court. Does it cost to go through the FO?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

The FOS is free of charge. I am in the process of claiming through them at the moment. You have to give the bank 8 weeks to respond or if you have had their final response before that, then you can go straight to the FO. I would give them a ring and read out your letter and they will advise you if this sounds like a final response. They are very helpful. Their details are below,

hi, i used the FO to claim £2,255 from Halifax. I only sent one letter to halifax to which they replied saying they were dismissing claim. Went straight to FO. really easy just to fill out form. Sent that first week in June. Received letter from FO on 14th july saying that halifax were offering to pay in full to avoid an investigation by FO. Just waiting for cheque now. Although it may seem to take a while, the FO got results without me having any of the hassle and stress of the thought of going to court. I've just put in claims for 3 credit cards and will definitley use FO again when they decline my complaint which of course they will. Good luck and be patient. Good things come to those who wait.0

Hi debs,
Well done on your win.
I sent my claim to FO on 15th June, so I'm hoping the timescale will be roughly the same as yours and that I will hear within the next couple of weeks!! My claim is with the HBOS and they seem to be one of the worst, when it comes to paying out. Hope it's the right result, desperately needing a break!!

Great stuff!! Hoping mine's the same timescale too, had letter off FO dated 10th July, saying they had written to the bank so just waiting! I really would love some good news for a change. At least going thru the FO you still have the option of court.

I read on here that the FOS only recover the difference between £12 and the charge made for credit cards.
Is this true, as i still have 2 cases to go, and the courts are becoming a farce.0 -
I've different things, sometimes it's less, sometimes it's what you've asked for with interest, unsure myself.Self Combust Society Member  :rotfl:0
