Good afternoon everyone......hope your day is going well.
Well, must get off my bum having read about your busy days!
Haven't done much today ...chatted to dear ex MIL on the phone. (I have been divorced from her son, my ex, nearly 11 yrs, yet we still chat, and her daughter, my ex SIL, is like a sister to me and we keep in touch too.) She sent me a lovely M&S arrangement of flower for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, and what with being away and going out I didn't manage to phone her to say thanks. I did try to phone a few times, but didn't get hold of her as she was probably out doggie-walking. I feel awful that she phoned me before I phoned her. That phone call has been on my "To Do" list for the last two weeks.
Have had porridge for breakfast (must lose weight) and two huge mugs of tea. I don't feel very energetic today so I am going to clear up the kitchen (my two night-shift working youngsters came in early this morning and have left the debris of their meals for me to clear up!) and go out and plant some petunias I bought at Aldi yesterday (one pound 69 for a big tray of ten very sturdy and healthy-looking plants..)
Grrrrrr. My keyboard pound sign just won't work...I get # when I press it....which is a real nuisance on a board where we talk about money and the price of things etc!!
I am going to cook up two trays of mince which have been sitting in the fridge since Friday....so that will do as the basis for a spag bol sauce and a cottage pie, which we'll have tonight. Also have some oldish potatoes in the back of the fridge too, so I hope they are OK to use. Not sure why they were stored in there.....
The freezer is full of ice, so that needs defrosting. Really must get up and get cracking. I too am an insomniac...I go to bed late, especially now I have taken early retirement and don't have to be up at the crack of dawn - (I have always been a night owl really, even when I worked full time ) - so I feel a tad lethargic the next day! I am having one of those days, but I shall go with the flow and not beat myself up over my lack of accomplishments today.
Tomorrow is another day, to paraphrase Scarlet O' Hara.
Sorry I haven't said hello to all....but I have read all your posts, been given food for thought, encouragement and quite a few smiles too. Hugs to those who need them and congratulations to our birthday posters too. Have a lovely day.
Thanks everyone. Onwards and upwards.....but another coffee first methinks

hi again
On the way home from w**k I felt so tired that I decided I was going to try and have a quick nap before I go out again for the school run. Instead, I made myself get on the exercise bike and pedalled like fury for 10 mins. Then I did 100 sit ups with the help of one of those swivelly bar things (don't think that's the technical name for it
 ). I now feel much more awake and feel better that I have actually done some exercise today. I will try and do another 20 mins or so on the bike later.
I have read all the threads but can't remember what has happened to whom so (((hugs))) to those that need one, congratulations to those with something to celebrate, "hope you feel better soon" to those who are poorly or not sleeping and well done to those who have lost weight.
Edited to say: Happy St George's Day to our English OSers and I have just noticed that this is my 600th post!
Bye for now. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Good afternoon all
I finally got DS in at the dr's for 11.35am. Which meant I had to take the morning off work (shame). Dr's first reaction, was Mumps! But then he looked in his mouth and he has yet another infection in his gum! He's on antibiotics now!
I eventually went to work, which by then I only had 1hr and 15mins left of my shift to do. So a nice easy day, but I feel worse for it, my eyes are so heavy. I feel like dropping to sleep.
annibooklover only wish I got your energy!
Ive got washing to do, but cant even be bothered to do that.
I will iron the uniforms for work/school for tomorrow, then I will take a break from any form of housework. Well - apart from prepping & cooking dinner. Oh and pack ups!
Have a great evening

Pennypincher... oh what a fun topic for an essay... Says she who works for a global company and it's a blooming nightmare keeping communication current as dealing with Seattle and Manila and Germany and then us in the UK can be a nightmare... I often end up having to get involved at silly o'clock in the evening if there is an urgent issue that needs addressing...
everyone else... I'm so sorry but I have lost track of everything as I was reading through the thread so I'm really really sorry!!!
Me? Oh well I'm at work (boohiss) and my laptop is still without a working screen and no-one will sign a new one off for me so I'm stuck with an old CRT screen hooked up to the laptop and it sucks... I can't log on in the evening from home and that means I can't discuss anything with the rest fo the global company outside of office hours... absolutely riddiculous...
Good note then I managed to get lots done in the garden yesterday so feel really chuffed about that! My peas are planted, my rocket is planted out, I have a tomato plant that will give yellow tomatos and a yellow courgette type plant...
I've planted some more chilli's and salad indoors which I am hoping will sprout so I can plant them outside in containers.
*sigh* oh well back to the grind stone today... work is horrid and I need to look for another job so badly it's unreal...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Hi everyone!
Been a funny old day really....manically busy here at work this morning and no time for a lunchbreak and now dead as a dodo hence why I've sneaked on here!!! My naughty boss has sent me 4 emails today...he's supposed to be on holiday but he did say it's raining and they are in a caravan.
Diddly squat on the OS front today really other than bed making and putting the bin out. Shall put a few more meal ideas onto the monthly menu for May tonight and then crack on with my cross stitch as have very nearly finished.:j Tea is....oh crikey I've forgotten!! I've listed it on this week's meal plans!
Have a groovy evening

Hi everyone.
It's raining it's pouring I wish I was snoring...yes another one to add onto the list of restless sleepers! I am so tired I reckon I could have a little nap in front of the computer, but I won't as DDs have got a friend around to play with them. :rotfl:
So far today I've
taken DDs to/from school,
posted 9 ebay parcels at the PO,
been to the Gym,
bought the food shopping in Aldi and Asda and put it away.
Next
I'm going to make the packed lunches,
then prepare sweet and sour chicken with noodles for tea followed by strawberries and
then do all the usual family stuff etc
I MUST GO TO BED EARLY TONIGHT!!!!
Have a good evening.0 -
