Morning everyone!
Gosh, there was a lot to catch up on on last night's thread!
<Hugs> to CCstar and to Mioliere (Hope the discussion with DH goes well xxx).
Amanda I'm so pleased to here that the wanderer has returned! Good luck woith your Race for Life training.
Happy Birthday to stefejb
Congratulations to the weightlosers: Amie 4 pounds in spite of it all! Well done you.
Math you missed out the chapter where there was a serious misunderstanding, she believes him to be a cad/was badly hurt by another girl once/other improbable thing but she's wrong. He manfully doesn't tell her she's got it wrong, but she finds out from someone else in about chapter 10.
Crazychick you're great for keeping up the correspondence. She sounds like she really needs someone to talk to. Maybe you should suggest she joins the board? btw, you aren't a chicken. It's a really tough thing you are trying to do, and I hope that you get in touch with him eventually xx
rchdap1 and MimiF and RozV lovely to hear from you.
Queenpig I think you should insist your bank writes to the other company (copying you) to explain that the error was theirs not yours.
Hope that those of you who'vebenen having rough nights manage to get a good night's sleep tonight.
And <hugs> to anyone who would like them, I have a bagful here ready to hand out....
No gym for me today as ankle decided to swell and become very painful yesterday. I was at the gym on Friday with no problems, not sure why it's decided to start complaining this much. Saw Doctor last week and he said that going to the gym was fine despite medical history. Will try to leep mobile today so it doesn't have a chance to pool (um, better get of the 'puter in a minute then).
Dinner tonight: I'm going to try Queenie's MeatLoaf. This was not part of my meal plan, had to change plans as I can't find the chicken breasts that I KNOW are in the freezer somewhere. Then I decided to swap today with tomorrow, but that would entail veggie shopping and I don't want to go shopping.
What do you normally have with meatloaf? I've never had it before.
Washing machine on, DW emptied. This afternoon I'll be tackling Zone 4: The Master Bedroom. Fortunately, we don'thave the piles of clutter that FlyLady talks about, so I'll get the whole thing cleaned properly in a couple of hours. We have solid floors everywhere, and two hairy cats. I could stuiff a mattress with the volume of cat hair I pick up!
No other news, will pop back later and see how we're all doing

Morning all, just
Have a great birthday and holiday stef, happy birthday Mr CM
Not had chance to read through completely yet, hope everyone is well.
I'm sat here impatiently waiting for my new fridge freezer, haven't stopped all morning trying not to keep watching out of the window. I have wanted an American Style one for ages and I'm like a kid on Xmas morning. With all the extra space I can now bulk cook without having to eat the same thing for a week
Must be strict with myself as the only thing that stops me overspending is lack of space, with over 14 cu ft of fridge space and 10 cu ft freezer space, I will have to be careful! But at least now less will be wasted etc.
Oh and embarrassing, have had to remove door to fit it in (yes it's that big) and I forgot this morning and keep going to open or close the door
Right, more jobs to do, ovens got a weird smell even if I did clean it twice last week so that is next! One day I might be more organised...........

I had Queenie's stupendous meatloaf hot with green beans, new potatoes and gravy and - but not on the same day - cold with salad and new potatoes. Hot or cold, it's delicious!Morning everyone!

ccstar i think healthy eating and exercise is the way to go, but its not easy
I think you mean me Twink, and I dont disagree and overall I do eat healthily, We dont have processed food, take aways are rare and limited to a small share of a small portion of chips with a fish. Love veg. Get bored with salads as I have had them for so many years, no sugary drinks, occasional alchol, yes I do have a sweet tooth but control it by not buying sweet things (except when DH goes shopping - he doesnt have a weight problem and I eat far less than he does!).
Boy don't I sound boring!!
Exercise is something I need to look at, but apart from resting my leg atm I do a fair amount of walking for work, but admit when I get home dont go out again. DH & I will be going out for walks a lot more once we finish after June (leg permitting), but I think at 55 starting some major gym program is OOT.:o

I am in receipt of your letter dated ?, in which you apologise for having taken money from my account without my authority. Unfortunately, this has caused considerable financial difficulties with my budget that would not have occurred had the money remained in my account. Your action left me short of funds to meet other regular commitments, caused me to become overdrawn and to have a direct debit returned as unpaid and I do not expect to be charged for either.
I await to hear from you with confirmation that these charges have not been applied to my account.

Afternoon :hello:
rchddap1 - Glad Lily is thriving, and I hope your plans for buying a house are going smoothly. I hope you saw my answer to your question on the Mortgages board a few weeks back
Roz_V, welcome back, I had been wondering where you'd disappeared to
PenPen - Glad you all had a lovely time in London. I saw Mary Poppins a couple of years ago, just after it opened. I thought the good bits were spectacular (like when the kitchen falls to bits and then mends itself!) but there were some weak bits too (Jolly Holiday - but then I doubt if anybody could do a better Jolly Holiday than the film version!)
stefejb - Happy Birthday! :bdaycake: I loved your song
MATH - Ah, the joy of Mills & Boon! I think you pretty much summed it up there! And the cover pic always seems to be of the heroine flung back in the arms of the hero in some exotic location/exciting situation :rotfl:
Hope all feeling "down" are feeling "up" again before too long ((((hugs))))
I'm in the office today, finally managed to work out the magic Excel formula to give me the data-set I needed, after slaving over it for most of Friday afternoon :j :j - I even considered taking it home with me over the weekend  but decided against that, so am pleased I finally managed to get it finished.
I'll be off at 5 and making a mad dash to the community project I help out with, prior to coming back into town to go to a show with my cousin (On the Town :j :j - free tickets
)
I need to think about what I am going to cook for the rest of the week - I bought asparagus, tomatoes and parsnips at the market on Saturday so that's three batches of soup straight away (though I might decide to do something different with the asparagus). Also, as I haven't cooked for several days, I still have the ingredients for fish pie. And macaroni cheese. And not much space in the freezer
I think I need to organise my plan based on availablility of freezer space and containers, and on the relative lifespan of my various ingredients.
Anyway, my coconut chicken with rice is in the microwave for my lunch - just off to eat it
Love Rzl xx

Hello everyone
Happy birthday Stefejb :bdaycake:
((hugs)) to everyone who's poorly, not sleeping or needs one for any reason.
Have had a nice morning. Washed all the floors as they're filthy from the kids running in and out of the garden all weekend - I *love* my Lidl microfibre mop so :T :T to everyone who recommended them. Took a couple of minutes to swish around all the laminate and ta-da! lovely shiny house!
DW is emptied and WM will go on when DS2 naps. DS1 and I had aubergine in tomato sauce with mozzarella for lunch, was gorgeous
DS2 (who is an adolescent in a 14-month-old body) refused to eat any and threw the biggest, wall-shaking-est tantrum ever  especially when he realised that his brother was getting pudding and he wasn't. Oh, I am a nasty mummy sometimes.........
I was just thinking about diets this morning and wondering if I could find something that is do-able and compatible with OS. Can someone point me in the direction of the thread please? Thank you
Oh and does 'Weight Watchers spicy cod' ring any bells with anyone? I've got it on my menu planner for tonight and can't find a recipe in any of my WW books - wonder if I read it on here maybe? I've been rolling it over from week to week as I didn't get round to making it, and now I can't remember where the recipe is!
Edited as I forgot to say : congratulations to Roz_VThat man is richest whose pleasures are cheapest. Henry David Thoreau0 -
Hello all
Last week seemed to be manically busy, so I didn't get the chance to post.
We've inherited an 8month old Westie puppy, called Tiger, , from a relative and he's taken time to get settled in. Added to that, our Zebra Finches (Pearl & Dean) have fledged a chick who needed separating (good old Freecycle, the source of small budgie cages!). Silver (as she's been called) seems happy in her new home, now that she's got over the stress of being separated from her Mum & Dad. We just need them to get to work on a friend for her, now!
I'm a bit creaky today, as yesterday Tiger (the puppy) decided that he'd sit on my computer chair just as I was about to sit on my computer chair. He missed, but as the chair is on wheels, succeeded in barging it out from under me right at the wrong moment. Consequently, I sat - rather hard - on the uncarpeted floor and cracked the back of my head against the wall. _pale_ Yeowch, but that blooming hurt - and still is hurting!! Its a good job I've got considerable amounts of padding - and its a good job I didn't sit on Tiger, or the consequences would have been far worse!
Still, I set myself the priority task of taking up all the dog beds in our bedroom, changing the bedclothes on our bed and then vacuuming under everything. I swear, you could have made another dog out of the hair I got off that carpet - so that was a good job jobbed, as we say! I'm looking forward to bedtime, now!
I've also got two oaty loaves going in the BM and have made some yoghurt which is yogging as we speak.
I made a fabulous "spur of the moment" lunch by scanning what needed using and what I'd got lurking in the freezer. Two little jacket potatoes with coleslaw on, a piece of Asda's cheap as chips frozen pink salmon (done in the microwave for just over a minute, then left to finish off under its own steam) with cucumber and tomato. Yum! I shall have to do that again.
Its h/m Quiche for dinner tonight, (I thought I'd give Aussie Lass's "Impossible Quiche" a go), so I'd better go and sort out some salad leaves after I've hung the washed sheets out to dry before the forecast rain comes along!
Happy birthday to all the birthdaying peeps - hope its a good one! Hugs to those who are a bit glum or poorly, too. Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Amanda666 - Glad kitty has come home. Cats are always that little bit wild! stefejb - Happy Birthday! enjoy the holiday too
MATH - you could earn a fortune! I can just see you as a tortured writer in a garret :rotfl: Maybe you should join forces with my OH who reckons he could write the scripts for corrie in his lunch break
rchddap1 - good to see you. Glad Lily is doing well.
RozV - well done on finishing your dissertation.
What's been happening here? well, not much really...........have got semi-organised food wise this week (have been rubbish for last couple of weeks), but with OH working lates, me out overnight for work and various other factors thrown in, it never quite works!
Made some yummy flapjack yesterday with leftover muesli that OH won't eat, makes a nice change from "normal" porridge oats only flapjack. Now, must try not to eat it all today.................
Plans for the rest of the day are
1) do some work
2) sort out the teetering pile of paperwork that gets dumped on top of the filing cabinet instead of in it
3) do some ironing
4) have a wardrobe sort out. Did OH's yesterday (Jeez, does that man have some clothes, well, not anymore
)
Tatty bye for now
Oh, congrat's to VickyA's team, who got through to the Hooligan cup final at the weekend :j0
