Had veg box delivery yesterday so £16.65 to add this week. Also sent DH to shop couple of times for medicine for kids and also milk, yoghurt & bread but he's not got receipts so think came to roughly £14. He was good and got own brand medicines but with two kids having raging temperatures last couple days we've gone through bottles of paracetamol & ibuprofen!!
    Will update sig.

Got away with a very small spend this week as I just needed onions, fruit, bread and some small cartons of juice and yogurts for packed lunches next week. Total spend was £4.90 so still on budget which is good because we have tax bills, insurance and lord knows what else to stump up for this month. Makes me so glad we had a frugal (yet brilliant) Christmas otherwise we'd be paying for that as well!

Also used some money from a different budget and got some packs of gift ribbon and gift tags that were down to 25p in Asd*. This will go with my pile of 18p Christmas paper from Mr M so sorted for next year :money:

Keep up the good work everyone, I have feeling that January is going to feel like a long month:eek:

    Can I join in please?

There are 5 of us and we've been spending £100 a week on groceries (inc nappies & wipes when necessary) but we need to get this down over the next few months.

I would like to aim for £320 this month (1st-31st Jan), £80 p/w which should be easy enough, freezer is full of leftovers and cupboard has plenty of useful things in it!

Forgot to add MrT has a special on Nouv*lle toilet rolls pk 18 for £2.50 if anybody`s interested.

Couldn't find them online - must be an in store thing? Online it's £2.50 for 9:(
Thanks for posting it though - always great to hear about offers as you never know!:)

Have just amended my Mr T delivery and comes to over £87:mad: Not really improving the £67 previous total, but have a very empty freezer, not much in the cupboards and 3 hungry adults to feed...
Also needed to stock up on occasional things like foil, coffee and mayo.

Almost out of dishwasher tablets, but should be able to eek out what's left until payday. Has anyone bought the dishwasher tablets in bulk from that guy on eebay? I think he sells washing powder too.
Not sure whether to chance £13 on a box of 200 dishwasher tablets that might not be any good?:undecided
  • Phew, it has taken me several days to read this thread! Not sure I will have the time to read everything, sorry.

I did the GC for a long time several years ago but we've been pretty flush for cash recently so I haven't needed to watch the pennies. BUT my Maternity Allowance will finish in March and I don't want to go back to my part-time job so we will be £500+ per month worse off . Hence my rejoining ;).

We are me, DH, 2 DS's and a 5-month-old baby so I'm going to start with what should be a gentle

    £350

    please Coxy

£5.43 spent in Aldi this evening on bread (DD wont eat homemade :(), milk, apples, bacon, multipack of crisps & a bottle of cheapy diet coke.

Had no money since Christmas as DH wasn't paid by a customer (he's a carpenter) on the 21st  so have been using up things in the cupboards and freezer, and searching the sofa for money for milk :( Finally gave in and had to borrow some money from DH's brother today as he's running out of fuel to get to work and we were down to 37p in my purse, no electricity and no milk for little DS bottle. He will be getting paid on Saturday though so will need quite a big shop (run out of dishwasher tablets, bin bags, washing powder etc) and will stock up on flour & butter as I've pretty much run down my stockpile in the past week.

We have a fruit & veg stall in town Tues-Sat and because I go so often the guys usually knock a bit off my total. They haven't been there since Christmas Eve so will be straight there on Tuesday morning as it's so much cheaper than the supermarkets.
