Have managed a no spend day today. Worked most of the day, took packed lunch with me. Tea tonight was all bits we had in from stores/freezer. I made tuna past bake for the kids for the first time ever and they both liked it :j They are not usually fussy at all, but in recent weeks they have not both enjoyed anything new that I've tried them with. I made lots too so that will do us all for lunch tomorrow too.
Plan for tonight is to make parsnip soup with LO veggies that are past their best. This will go in the freezer for cheap lunches for me. I also need to write a shopping list as need to do a shop on Saturday morning for our week away next week. I will start thinking about meals for that tonight then write the list tomorrow so I can get DH's 'approval' on my meal choices.0 -
Oooh I so wanted a small shop today but it ended up being quite a bit more than planned, need to sit down & work out what is what before adding it to my spending total!.."There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0

Butterbean and chick pea curry for tea. Made a large slow cooker full so plenty for the freezer too. While slow cooker was still hot, i put some other ingredients in it to make up another big pot of food. This time, sweet and sour sauce - cheapie tesco sauces, some raw carrots...will add more ingredients tomorrow.

Hmmm not doing brilliantly with my budgeting so far, I have about £7.50 to last until 7/8th when next lot of money comes in, I do however have all ingredients for this weeks meals, a full fruit bowl and a overfilled freezer (quite a bit of DS's food in there!). I will need to buy more ingredients next week but hoping I can last until then. Using up stuff in fridge, sending DH off to work with wraps using up salad, ham and cheese (ok I bought the ham today but the rest is surplus). Made a big batch of pinto bean chilli which we had last night and tonight and there was enough to put two portions in the freezer - bonus!Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013

Where does everyone get their veg boxes? I'm in Norwich, and I'd like to buy from and help out local farms, but I don't even know where to start looking
I get mine from Riverford, if you go on their website you can type in your post code to find if there is a local farm that delivers to you. Really good veg and I'm happy with the price! Failing that just search online for veg box delivery and I'm sure you'll find one! xGrocery Challenge 2019 YTD-£820.46/£7200(11%)

Forgot my spends whoops. £14.57 on eggs and meat from Veg Co and £11.94 at Sainsbobs - went in to get one item came out with a bag full and not the item I wanted........ walks away quietly
Mrs_T_M I get mine from Riverford and Able and Cole, both are good but Able and Cole's minimum spend is £10 for anything (they do meat, dairy, all sorts in fact) and Riverford is £12.50 for f&v and £25 for meat. Also Able and Cole have an offer on at the moment I believe you get a free cookbook on your first delivery and your 4th box free. I signed up for this last time and got the biggest box for my free oneStay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013
