Had first big shop of the month today - spent £52.06, but that's us well and truly stocked up on toilet roll, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and shower gel plus all food for the next week so not too bad I don't think....

Finally worked out from OH that the dog food for the month cost £65.68, would have been less but he went soft and bought some bones as well, even though the dog has hundreds from Christmas (he's a bit of a family favourite!)

Anyway going to update sig with totals.

Sent £29 in Lidl/poundland/iceland yesterday and another £31 in Sainsburys today, ought to have enough food to last me the whole month now!

Also spent £3.39 on eye make up remover!

Went to greengrocers and bought some fruit and veg, but don't think it saved anything from comparing it with Mr T though, so wasn't really worth the 1 mile extra round trip! Still it is supporting the local business!

Mr T shop went really well though, first time I can remember where I stuck to my list without deviating from it at all! Hence total spend at shops today was just under £50 and that is amazing for me!

Next main grocery shop will be Monday or Tuesday but I will probably get a few things in town tomorrow at chemist which I will include in the budget amount so will update then.

    No spends today, yay.

OH made himself steak for dinner (leftover from Christmas and frozen) with a whisky cream sauce, broccoli & chips (both from freezer). He also put my dinner on for me while I was at the gym so is in the good books :) - it was leftover roasted veg pasta sauce (also from the freezer) with pasta and salad. Chucked a few almonds in with the leaves and radish as realised it was a very protein-light meal, but it was delicious!

Forgot to add MrT has a special on Nouv*lle toilet rolls pk 18 for £2.50 if anybody`s interested.

Thanks for this tip, I stocked up today as it was the best deal by far at Mr T for toilet roll! However I think you mean 9 rolls not 18 - unless the bigger stores have this offer as my one doesn't stock 18 packs x

  • Shopping in town this morning car park £2.00. Lots of half price stuff so stocked up on some birthday gifts for family and friends. Lots of decent hard back non fiction books at The Works for 50p.

Unexpected visitors this afternoon meant I had to send partner scurrying to the C0-0P.
Two Warburton's loaves for £2.20 and two boxes of half price lemon cupcakes at £2.20 so total spend of £4.40.

Popped in to visit my nephew in hospital £2.80 for car park!

First spend of the year £5.03 :rotfl: The smallest amount i,ve ever spent at Mr S and realised I didn,t even need to spend that

Went to buy some cereal for kids, and grabbed some oatcakes and goats cheese for lunches.

Got home, put cereal away, found 2 boxes i,d hidden from eldest DS as he eats cereal like its going out of fashion, and found some oatcakes I,d bought before Christmas.

Lesson - check the cupboards before going to the bloomin shop.....

Hey ho it could have been worse, will need F&V at the weekend, and maybe some milk and ham for sandwiches but will check before I go this time.
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130
  • Went shopping with my list in an attempt to stick to it; mainly some fruit and some veg. But then saw my favourite cereal at half price (so bought two), DH's preferred deodarant on offer (so bought 2) and then mouthwash at half price (so, yes bought 2). Also bought some christmas crackers, wrapping paper and paper napkins reduced but they are from a different budget.
So far so good. Used up all the turkey and ham now from Christmas so will food plan for next week to include lunches for me and DD2.

another 15.55 today so a total of 31.90 for grocery so far. Not too bad considering I probably have enough now to see us through the weekend.

I made flour tortillas tonight - so easy and basically flour and milk so very cheap too!
    Trying to keep in budget.

  • Two days d&v and two takeaways - feeling a bit unmotivated. I will try and total up and start again tomorrow.
